Australian government has gone tyrannical

Where to though? Vaccine mandates and lockdowns happened all over the world (although they were pursued with particular zealotry here)

Australia is a large landmass surrounded by ocean with a relatively small population on coastal areas close to Asia and NZ, which is very close to Antarctica.

If somebody wants your land, resources and strategic value all they need to do is target the populations of AUS and NZ. Its unlikely given the current trajectory of the world anyone will be able to assist the normal citizens against whoever it may be.

What state is this in? I know that in QLD, outside of Brisbane, I have never heard anyone voluntarily going for the fourth, or fifth doses, even amongst Boomers.

As far as I am aware, it is only the seniors cruises that request that their passengers have their fourth and fifth doses. I have had Boomers tell me that they baulked at that.

NSW and VIC are a different story. I am in Sydney visiting family and I still see COVID testing areas around the place. Whereas I see none of that where I live in SE QLD.

I'm in Queensland as well, and I agree with you. The news talks about this stuff non stop, but everyone I talk to about it is completely over it.. Even those who got double jabbed to continue going to restaurants and cafes are amazed at the stupidity of it all. I know large numbers of people who remain unjabbed, or stopped after two and won't get any boosters.

Granted I live in the countryside. I think Brisbane got pretty ridiculous at some stages. Country Queensland was probably the best place to be to ride the evilness out.

Yes unfortunately I'm still in Australia due to direct family reasons but planning with all my effort to get out of here when I finally can. My advice to anyone here; do the same as the place has gotten properly scary and it's never going back to "normal".

The worst thing is how even more backstabbing and indifferent (and rude!) the average Aussie has become since the lockdowns. I feel Australia was the real experiment for what's to come.
Absolutely. It seems like everyone is "on edge" and I've found myself this way too simply by virtue of being here. For example, I caught a lovely Murray Cod recently. Quick segway, fishing, and the environment are one of the last bastions of "good" here. Fishing here is so good. Soon enough, they'll ban it due to cruelty to the fish and "fish lives matter". But I digress.

So I caught the cod, and I posted it on Facebook. Couldn't believe how many vitriolic comments there were simply because I put it down in the dirt. Seems like everyone is ready to lash out at anyone for the most minor infraction.

Another time, I saw the aftermath of a bad crash involving a cyclist and a motorist on my way home from work. I then posted on Facebook, as a concerned citizen, asking if anyone knew whether this person was fine or not. I was then lambasted by no less than 10 morons saying that I should "mind my own business" and "stop rubbernecking". I think this example epitomizes the lack of community here. Everyone is expected to focus only on themselves and their immediate peer group.

Coupled with various other experiences including the forced vaccinations and lockdown madness, this country has left a terrible taste in my mouth. I want to leave, but I *should* go to university (I've finally figured out what I want to study). But the thought of being here 3 years more makes me cringe.

Those two examples seem pretty disproportionate to what I experience in real life. It seems like what one would see in one of the subreddits for any Australian city.

The posts on those subreddits of which, mirror your in real life experience. Reading some threads provide great insight into the under 30's aged "Kevin/Karen" types.

Australia still has opportunities to create a decent lifestyle for yourself, though it won't be anywhere in Sydney or Melbourne, or the other capital cities. There is still a sizable portion of the nation that doesn't live off of watching 9News and Married at First Sight.

Of course, because people are more inclined to be brazen online. But it is still indicative of people's underlying thoughts. They just put a filter on it in person because of the threat of conflict.

Story by Nic White and Brett Lackey For Daily Mail Australia

  • Australia has hundreds of Covid mass testing clinics - 165 in NSW alone
  • Staff said fewer than 100 people show up for testing every day
  • Bored staff play with their phones in empty car parks waiting for them to come
