Australian government has gone tyrannical

As I mentioned in the poll thread :

"The joke is even stronger.
They intend to go with the 'Oxford' thing.

News.com.au revealed Wednesday that the Morrison Government confirmed a landmark agreement with drug giant AstraZeneca to manufacture one of the world’s most promising coronavirus vaccines currently being developed by Oxford University researchers.
In a significant development, the Covid-19 vaccine jointly developed by British-Swedish company AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford has been found to be safe and induced an immune response in early-stage clinical trials. The AZD1222 vaccine, based on a chimpanzee adenovirus called ChAdOx1, elicited antibody and T-cell immune responses, according to results published in The Lancet medical journal on Monday.
...
Oxford’s AZD1222 vaccine is made from a genetically engineered virus that causes the common cold in chimpanzees. However, the virus has been modified so that it doesn’t cause infection in people and also to mimic the coronavirus.

Scientists did this by transferring the genetic instructions of the coronavirus’ “spike protein” – the crucial tool it uses to invade human cells – to the vaccine. This was done so that the vaccine resembles the coronavirus and the immune system can learn how to attack it.

They intend to enforce a vaccine that isn't even a full China Virus vaccine.
Just some Chimp hybrid thing.

You'd have to be a chump to risk it...
Especially if 'they' think you're no better than lab monkeys. "

But do you think (((they))) would have let Orwell publish it, and allowed it to get so popular as a reference to tyrannical government, if it was not purposely misleading?

I think (((their))) willingness to micromanage is vastly overestimated. The system works in a certain way, they don't have to push it in a particular direction, it goes there on its own, faster or slower is the issue, and I think they surely work towards faster and to hinder any attempts at slowing it, but beyond that, I don't think they controlled how popular it got or even cared.

I'll give you one example with that particular book. One of the last times I was at the office before this corona stuff started, I was talking to my team, which is all early millennial and late gen x, from multiple western euro nationalities, and I made a joke about 1984. And none of those 10 people knew what I was referring to. They don't know of this book. They are purely tv and internet people, they don't read books, and they also don't care about governments, tyrannical or otherwise. And that's a much deeper effect which I think (((they))) are aware and care much more. And they don't need to steer it in this direction: the mere existence of tv and internet accomplishes this for 90% of the population.

I think it's a waste of time to think of motives, and more worthwhile to think of structures and effects. Motives are irrelevant. Only God knows truly the motives behind every action, of everyone. But we can know and study the structures of our world, and their effects. Gutenberg was a supporter of Church authority, and he certainly didn't put together his printing press with the intention of undermining that authority, much less of bringing about a total revolution that would cripple the Church in the way that it did. But it happened anyway.

You know what is more worrisome to me than Netflix people wanting to promote pedophilia? The fact that most people complaining about it just want to be able to immerse themselves in entertainment with plausible deniability. The sexualization (and really the vulgarization in general) of society and children is not new and is inherent in the medium itself. Without understanding this, no one is going to fix anything. Just kicking the can down the road until it becomes the new normal - which is what the western world has been doing for more than a century.

In this particular locution, it's been said by the Mystics that believers are to follow a flame to a location where they will be safe for the next seven years. I've done what I was told to do to prepare my house to receive guests over the last few months.
This is a bit out there for my understanding. What will be the flame?

but I also seem to understand now why Russia is about to do what it is going to do.
TLDR, what is Russia going to do?

This is insane and draconian.

Authorities in Australia have given themselves the power to have police remove children from the custody of their parents in order to ensure compliance with coronavirus rules.

Schedule 2 of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Act 2020 amends the Emergency Response Act 2004 to create new powers during “declared emergencies.”

Section 25 of the act states the following:

* Some notes from ground-zero if anyone's interested;

- Check points with armed police and unarmed (yeah right, check their vans) ADF at every mayor road out of Melbourne. You can't leave unless you have a "valid" reason (ie you are either an "essential" worker or you get a $1652 fine).

- Highway Patrol in 600hp V8 cars patrolling the back-roads and pulling up anyone with a plate from Melbourne.

- 8pm - 5am "curfew" this is no joke, they set off major roads with a dozen police cars and drones to check if you're "allowed" to be out and about, only essential workers are allowed to be going back and from work. Police boss or whatever you call him has said anyone outside in curfew hours are "riff raff" and need to be dealt with in any way necessary.

- WORKING PERMIT - you need an "essential working permit" to be able to get to work ANY time of the day, if you do not have that, it's arrest if you have no valid excuse (up to the officer).

- up to 1 hour of daily exersice allowed within a 5km radius of your PRIMARY residence, so no way flogging off to your country home.

- MANDATORY mask wearing or a $200 fine, which no one can afford right now so 100% compliance.

- People are scared, no more G'day's or hello's. Some people put their heads down in shame on the street.

- I've seen quite a few young teenagers drunk or on drugs roaming the streets without any hope of a future.

- SAFE INJECTING ROOMS operational; junkies are still being served their daily dose of heroin, do not require to wear a mask and are immune from police brutality.

Some good news (maybe):

-I've spoken to many of my co-workers and it seems like they're slowly waking up.
"this lockdown is killing more people than the virus" and "this man (our Premier) seems to have no concern for us still working" seems to come up a lot.

But to be honest it seems Game Over. Nothing has come of all our based Italian and Greek communities to at least stand up and save their freekin restaurants who have been hard fought for over generations.

The country is better and I feel the real resistance is there and that's why they're not as hard on the folk there. Many guns and many people are prepared there, it's also huge with dozens of little towns scattered which are providing the place with food and everything else. But Melbourne? God help us.

The irony is that whilst many have heard of 1984, few have read it and even fewer understand it.

I know someone who is a teacher who will be having their English class read 1984 because it is 'such an important novel in these times'. Said person is an extremely left wing socialist. From what I know of their views it is categorically impossible for them to understand the message of the book and maintain their ideological outlook.

For most people allusions to 1984 or 'Orwellian' scenarios are just used as shorthand for 'the government doing something I don't like.'

But this is exactly my point.

Orwell himself was a left-wing socialist.
Wikipedia said:
Eric Arthur Blair (25 June 1903 – 21 January 1950),[1] known by his pen name George Orwell, was an English novelist, essayist, journalist and critic.[2] His work is characterised by lucid prose, biting social criticism, opposition to totalitarianism, and outspoken support of democratic socialism.[3][4][5][6]

That doesn't mean a lot Rob.

Orwell fought in the Spanish Civil war and quickly learned what Communism was all about. His two most famous books are really much more about Soviet Communism than about Capitalism, despite his stated socialist status. And that is precisely why they aren't as relevant as most think: he thought the greatest threat to freedom and dignity came from Communism, and as a democratic socialist he thought the 'mixed economy' and 'democracy' were the humane system. The government in 1984 could never evolve from a liberal world, whereas the one in BNW could (and is). And by now I think we know liberal capitalism is just as inhumane as Soviet Communism, just way more pernicious and hard to fight against.

A socialist like Orwell is much more on our side, and favors things more conducive to what we want, than the vast majority of conservatives today. Unfortunately, there aren't many left.

Sweet crap! They're not even trying to hide it anymore!

I really wonder if that's not been the plan all along... at some point they knew everybody'd snap out of it (about now) but by then it'd be too late (also about now) and they could have huge one eyes everywhere, just in case people forget (coming)...

Melbourne is in complete tyranny and the cracks are showing. Let's focus on that?

Its starts with one city/area, and then pretty soon they will come for the rest. That's how it went in the ''first wave'' also. I still remember talking with my gym buddy before the whole of italy shut down, It was just crazy in the north at that time. I said its for sure we will be locked down everywhere soon. The next day the gym was closed because the lock down was extended to the entire country. Never got a chance to see the guy again.

Also is the boot comming down harder in australia this time than the first round ?. If so thats a really bad sign for everywhere else too, totally expected that the ''2nd wave'' would be harder but still now thats its really happening my mind is looking for excuses to not believe its comming.

Yes, however there's gonna be a freedom march on 5 September, where 500 000 patriots are expected to attend. At the moment, Melbourne's communist premier is stating that the current police state restrictions will be lifted on 13 September.

Australia has just gone through winter. IE the typical "flu season".

Now, whether it's because folk became lax because they thought the "first wave" was over & did not wash their hands as diligently.
Whether it was the colder conditions that lead to this years flu season in Aus. or China Virus season as you will.

With the rise in cases that occurred here.
I'm curious to see whether the Northern Hemisphere was another "big wave" come November.

Media fear campaigns aside.
Also noting, that if you test more, you'll find more. Not that someone tested positive is actually infectious.
