Australian government has gone tyrannical

For those who don't know Melbourne is nearing Winter has currently just completed 7 days of a 'snap' (12 hours notice) 'harsh lockdown' (straight to 'stage 4'). Masks all the time, 5km from home max distance, gyms/restaurants/offices/schools all closed.

It was just extended another 7 days. I predict this will go on for a total of 4 weeks, which then it will ease, and then later on a very harsh 3 month style lockdown.

Reason - "Indian variant"

Less than 1% of the country is vaccinated (according to Kayak), so they will be punishing the people hard.

They are floating the idea of 'restriction free travel for vaccinated', i.e. the gateway to no jab, no fly.

They're pushing "forced vaccination" my friend.

OZ is gone, find some bush to hide in cause they mean business.

From an avoiding degeneracy standpoint, regional Australia represents the best of a (bad) bunch: the Hunter, NSW Central/South Coasts, North Queensland, Sunshine/Gold Coasts etc. Basically all places with very few diversity-loving leftist public servants based there since they’re all in the capital cities. You’ll still get your dingbats in local council but they don’t affect the big stuff. Hopefully the crazy leftism doesn’t spread to those parts for at least another decade.

If you’re business-minded also then NSW is the obvious choice.
The humidity in North Queensland might be a bit of a killer for most people unless you grew up with it. Most places in Queensland are somewhat conservative, and most Queenslanders are pragmatic folk.

Outside of inner Brisbane (within 10km radius of CBD), most seats at the federal, and state level, are held by conservatives with a solid margin. This has been without much variance over the last 40-50 years, considering the sizable interstate migration.

NSW outside of Greater Sydney would also be a worthwhile area to base yourself. Mostly conservative areas with low unemployment that are growing.

The government has invested a LOT of money into the infrastructure of The Pandemic - they will want a return on investment - so this nonsense isn't going away any time soon.

This is a simple, interesting, and very explanatory idea. Which makes it by far the most likely to be true.

Motives are rarely, if ever, purely unselfish.
The infrastructure is now in place for whatever the next Big Thing is.
Yes, the question is always presenting itself: are bureaucracies chaotic in their nature, by their nature? Are they actually driven in some odd way by the demons? I think so. I think they are unpredictable in this fashion too, since it is clear they have a general trend, but they are often hapless and stupid, and take a long time to get where they were going, regardless of what we say about "plans."

The System and apparatus as we know it exists simply to self-perpetuate itself, it will only do what is in its best interests and increase its own chances of survival. Godless people running our government will produce a certain material outcome which we are seeing now - much sophistry in regards to "Freedom" and "Liberty" but nothing about God, nothing about how our society is sick.

Australia is One big Giant prison.

Melbourne certainly seems to be.

I live in North Queensland, a bit humid but I haven’t seen a mask in 2 months. I know very few people who have been vaccinated and to be honest you wouldn’t actually know this Covid scam existed where I am. Will it stay that way forever? Probably not.. our government is known to go full on lockdown dictatorship with the hint of a “new deadly super spreader variant”

The last year really hasn’t been bad for me, but I understand that can change at any moment.

Stay out of the 5 largest cities and you could pretty much pretend this charade isn’t happening.

Yes - Queensland north of the Sunshine Coast would be a great place to be. The 'Texas'/'Florida' of Australia.

The question is, would it be better to move here OR to an Eastern European country for better wife prospects and freedom from restrictions?

Melbourne and Sydney are the panopticons embodied.
Try living in the dystopia known as the UK and Sydney won't seem so bad.

My PR was finally processed last year, and two weeks in a hotel room was a small price for the sanity I found here. Other than a couple weeks at the start, NSW has never locked down. We'll probably end up being the last country to be vaccinated, so we'll know which one is safest in the mid term.

Though some urban Melbournites are obsessed with American Identity Politics despite everyone being mostly Euro or Asian here. They even had a massive George Floyd protest, which in part caused their five month lockdown. I swear, Labor Premier* Dan Andrews is drunk on power, and I say that as an old school socialist.

I am not going to badmouth my new home.

*Governor/State leader.

Looks like the Victorian State Government are now cross references bank / credit card transactions with 'covid hotspots' and forcing people into house arrest and 2x nasal rape.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you lads know I had DHHS knocking on my door yesterday claiming I was at an exposure sight. I never checked in anywhere - the only way they've tracked me down it by using bank card information that was used at the venue which was a bar on Chapel St in Melb where they said on Channel 9 News when the "outbreak" started that they were gonna use this information to track ppl down who didn't check-in at these exposure sights

Just wanted to let everyone know it's actually happened to me now so 100% use cash everywhere you go, especially if you aren't checkin in or using fake details to check in on these QR codes, otherwise they'll be knocking on your door and threatening you like they did me w/ house arrest until I get 2 Negative results for covid swab tests

Just to be clear - The 14-Day self isoaltion at home, is subject to you getting two Negative results for covid tests in that time. If you don't get tested they literally told me they'll keep knocking on my door until I do.
