This turn of events has really ruined what I used to like to believe about Austria, that it was more sovereign in Europe, a bit like Switzerland. Is Austria a "vassal" of Germany? Why is the leadership there so unstable - HC Strache was so popular then a scandal, then the youngest European head of state who was so popular at one point, suddenly also gone in a scandal. Austria is centrally controlled from Vienna. The Viennese political class and social elite do not care about what happens to their country, as long as they get paid. From February 1, Austrian citizens will be required by law to have received a full regimen of COVID-19 shots or face being added to a registry for the un-jabbed, members of which will be subject to hefty fines of up to €3,400 ($4,000), issued every three months, Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein confirmed.

We in the UK have been lucky in this sence. we are still at ease. cant help but think how many people in the world are on the knife edge.
still the UK is fine for now, lets take it one day at a time, surely they will let us enjoy Christmas, like we had the summer.
Look at this quote, I'm surprised every day now how much of a wow factor these statements can still have even if you're aware what's going on. The absurdity and especially the complete disappearance of logic is phenomenal to see.
