Nudge -

Cool.

Yeah, I have asked tons of people, and no one can verbalize it.

What is the real "E-tabby" old school shit that makes you feel good.

With vocals.

What would you call that stuff?

Now you would probably just call that old school disco house or something. Though back then it would have just been called "house" before all these sub-genres kept being invented.

Yeah, that would be a pretty good example I think.

Update:

Yeah, that is actually a really good example.

The problem is back then you didn't have the internet and you never knew what the tracks were.

Even though this is way later, this might be an example:

Maybe this would be an example, sort of but not really:

fast forward the first 25 seconds

Just the really positive "E-tabby" stuff.

The stuff that makes you feel really good and makes it easy to swoop (this is where I am going with this).

Like probably from 90-95 era.

What would be good to listen to for that?

I think this is the Documentary Nudge is talking about. " Pump up the volume-History of House music " Thanks for this treat Nudge.

One of the comments said this Doc should be mandatory for kids is Schools :)

I Think Roosh wanted some new mixes from 2012 and here we House Lovers are pouring our love for this genre of music........

To follow with a Noob question for the Tech Savy members, How do I listen to all this Good shit on my I phone while working out etc or What is the preferred method , like "Hungry for Power by jamie Jones" is probably the best so far in this thread that I like and I can only find it on youtube. The sound cloud site is awesome... Are you guys playing directly from that site or dowloading on to macbooks etc

I've asked before but does anyone know any groups similar to Prodigy? I want some hardcore sounding electronic music that has a unique sound. Someone told me Justice but I can't find anything else like them. I wanna bang some girls to this type of shit!!

Yeah, I was going to say Justice. Best video of last decade.

Reminds me of being a kid.

See if you can catch the references.

Just found a full album:

@ G - Actually there is a ministry of sound 90s classics that just came out. This will be right up your ally

http://www.ministryofsound.com/shop/product/music/43657/anthems-90s/

I know what you mean though, macking in this kind of environment when everyone is rolling and happy is amazing. Words arent even needed, you just feed off each others energy. Wish I was around for the late 80s/90s rave scene.

@ Lothario - Yeah I love that docco, think I've watched it around 5 times. If you want to download and pay for some tracks you can get them on http://www.beatport.com/ to put them on your iphone or whatever. I prefer to download sets though from soundcloud, they are great for working out too.

@ Houston - Try Pendulum and some Chase and Status (some is a bit cheesy though)

I used to get all my house mixes from Ministry of Sound, but they got way too commercial over the years and then my house music supply dried up.

Has anyone heard any good house mixes this year?

I just checked Spotify and they have what seems to be an endless supply of 2012 House mix playlists that other users have put together. Worth checking out if you don't use it, but you'll need a premium account to download and use it in some countries (there are workarounds). Easily one of my most essential monthly expenses while traveling.

This thread has turned me on to House music again.

That song Gmanifesto just posted is smooth. I found a 90's techno compilation like it 10 years ago but lost it. It had a bunch of laid back songs sort of similar except with no 90's style singing. I popped a pill in someone's backseat and was in heaven with that cd playing. I have no idea about all the techno genres so don't know what to look for.

James Zabiela! This guy always destroys the Discoteca in Space.I don't know what's your audio system at home and if you'll be able to feel it, but at a good club, he's always out of control and the crowd goes crazy.

@Roosh, here are a few non-corny songs that were big in 2012:

I can drop more later. The next ones are some personal favorites, which I've heard around the clubs:

As far as artists that were big this year, Jamie Jones as mentioned before is huge in the UK and Ibiza.I often took first sates to his party at dc10, getting laid on the same night with 100% consistency.Girls love his music. In the underground scene Solomun took over Ibiza, very big all over Germany and everywhere actually where gravity applies with his 100+kg weight. His label Diynamic has other great artists worth listening to like David August, Stimming, H.O.S.H., Uner.David August's only 21, but has a very bright future ahead.Dixon especially and Ame from Innervisions are enormous in all of the underground scenes in Western Europe.Nicolas Jaar had some great live performances.Seth Troxler is a funny guy, but can't feel his sets, a lot of people like him though.Maceo Plex/Maetrik is great too, made it to the top.My boy Kink had a great year, you should check out his Boiler Room set, the whole place was sweating :) I also like Radio Slave, he's quite dark.

Enough for now.

I'll ignore you wrote e-tabby, but I hear you.The first example is 90s eurotrance, faster-paced than most of the stuff nowadays.I'd suggest you check out the old stuff by Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, ATB, Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold and also some hard trance like the old Cosmic Gate stuff.Trance had peaked in the late 90s/early 00s before it revived again in the last years and is quite big now. Some disco/techno/deep house/acid house/electronica seem to be by your taste, but the sounds evolve through the years and sub-genres separate themselves and mix with each other all the time. The sounding of a genre also changes.
I'll give a few examples, of what I believe you'd love:
A homie was part of Ruffneck:

Deep Dish were sick, listen to their other stuff too, the two brothers went their separate ways.Sharam plays progressive house, while Dubfire became the Darth Vader of the techno.Love his style.

This one is legendary:

This one got me really excited about electronic music.Love it and the video too.Unfortunately have never heard Armin play it at a party, and I've been to quite a few of his:

Cosmic Gate don't play these stuff anymore, asked Bossi to play the 2nd one, which is my favorite by them, but the douche set it was too fast to throw it in there...

Not to flood the thread with too many links...Regarding what parties you'd like nowadays, the most e poppers + positive smiley vibes to be found are at the big name DJs progressive house parties and some of the trance parties too. They attract the fresher, younger crowd, with less rave partying experience, who are just entering the water on their first dive. But it all depends on the club/festival, the crowds it attracts and their policies.

All the main 90s stuff can be found by searching 'Ibiza classics.' This is my favourite of that genre:

A good house DJ who consistently does great beats is the UK DJ Pete Tong.

If I could ask you to be a little more specific, then it would be easier to help you. Are you looking for something to give you energi working/working out. Something that will be great as background-music - as mentioned earlier, "house" is such a wide variety of sounds.

Here is something you might like, pretty mainstream house-tracks of 2012 but mixed together by a very local danish guy.
