To match the 70s thread. I was born in the 70s, but did most of my growing up in the 80s. Love music from that time.

Def Leppard was *the shit* when I was a kid. The whole Hysteria album was awesome, but the two standouts for me were always Animal and Pour Some Sugar on Me:

The Message' Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five

Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

Rebel Without A Pause' Public Enemy

Soul II Soul - Back To Life-
START OF NEW JACK SWIM ERA

Bryan Adams - Summer of 69

Dam near everything MJ did was great (Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad) each album plays like a greatest hits album.

Purple Rain by Prince the whole dam soundtrack.

Song i hated the most from the 80s ...
Bobby McFerrin - 'Don't Worry Be Happy' Shit makes my skin crawl when i hear it.

And anything the Beach Boys made in the 80s...

OMYG

Woodpecker
I was born in the 90's but I grew up listening to 80's music, here's my pick:

The music video is a masterpiece.

Some good ones being posted. Haven't heard One Night in Bangkok in years. Keep em coming.

Hall and Oats had a ton of great hits during the 80s. Too many to post here.

Sting/The Police were awesome back then too.

Tommy Eyes

Sparrow

and this whole album (I get all Pat Bateman about this one):

60% of what I listen to is 80s (rest either rat pack or classical).
