Bird Repellent methods?

Hello everyone,

In last weeks, a flock of birds have began to spend their days on a tree, about 30 meters outside my window.
They make a lot of noise, from sunrise to sunset.
Note that I don't have physical access to the tree, as it's outside of my property.

Has anyone a solution, which wouldn't involve cutting down the tree, or shooting down the birds?
On the net, I found suggestions about using reflective surfaces, but the birds aren't just under my window.
Others use a device, which is linked to the ground and emits sounds, but the range is about 15 meters, not enough for my case.
Maybe more promising, using eagle or howl sounds, but I have multiple neighbours, and this could create noise complaints.

Has anyone faced a similar situation?
If yes, what was your solution?

Thanks and have a great day.

What kind of birds? This sounds like the sort of problem a good old fashioned farm cat or barn owl could solve.

Put one of these in the tree:

Have you perhaps considered being grateful for the abundance of harmless songbirds in your area that people usually pay a lot of money to move closer to?

Everyone's hell is someone else paradise, indeed.
Maybe one day I'll be able to hear such sounds, and think they're nice and calming.

Here's a link from a Permaculture forum I like, although as other posters have mentioned, most people want more birds around.

Do owl decoys work?

That goes double for the food growing hippies at that forum. They love birds because they are natural pest control for insects.

Maybe if you took up gardening your feelings about the birds would change.

That being said, that thread on whether or not fake owls work also has other ideas about discouraging the birds, including a post by someone who works in pest abatement.

In your current state of ornithogyny, the news isn't good.

TL/DR: Unless you use netting or kill the birds, you should probably learn to live with them.

It depends on the kind of bird, I don't blame OP if he can't offer a better description.

Back in old country there were these big clouds of tiny black birds that would descend on the fields and make camp in the wind breaks. Not much to do other then encourage predator settlement or imitate the presence of predators. Those things though are just about the opposite of desirable songbirds for anyone living in North America.

One other option could be putting up houses and trying to encourage desirable songbirds to make a presence on OP's property, but doing that the right way can easily become a huge time sink. If done in a low effort way it could end up simply encouraging the undesirables even more.
