Bracelets and Necklaces?

Any preference for metal vs non metal ( leather, suede etc.) type necklace cord.
The bloody metal cord pulls my vellus hair on my neck and is uncomfortable. Would replacing the metal chains with a leather look tacky?
And any idea where I can find other material cords locally? Walmart, Michaels?

I could order from Aliexpress but then would need to wait a month for arrival.

Depends on what you're wearing on the cord, I suppose.

I don't wear necklaces for anything but utilitarian reasons--wearing a hand lens, compass, or similar--but I just use paracord. I mean real 7 strand core 550 cord, not the knockoff polycore stuff. It's comfortable and can be bought in just about any color you want.

The downside to paracord is it's basically unbreakable (compared to your neck) unless cut, so if you're ever planning on being in a rough situation you should add some kind of metal clasp that will break if the necklace is yanked on. I'd say that's true for leather too, as far as it goes.

I would just transfer the pendants from the metal ones to the new cord. I have a cross, bullet type and a few other edgy pendants.

I don't think it would look tacky using leather instead.

Depending on the pendant and how you dress I think something like a 5mm or 6mm round leather cord would be fine, dark brown or black. I've never bought from this place but this is the sort of thing I'm talking about:

I'm assuming you're not wearing small pendants.

You can find 7 strand 550 cord all over the internet if you want to try that route.

On the netflix show Club de Cuervos, Chava Iglesias wears this really cool clip on fashion accessory on his dress shirt. I tried finding the name but no luck.

It looks like a great way to add some edgyness to your style.

A 5 mm cord is gonna be way too thick unless youre wearing a dumbbell.

Leather gets stiff and it wont hang down and will get stuck in weird shapes.

I have a light cross on a 3mm leather cord and the cord doesnt hang. Cant imagine a 6 mm one.

Jewlery and it's style is entirely dependent on your whole look, vibe and location.

If you have a hippy vibe, go nuts. Wear 50 bracelets. If you're a clean guy, jewlery ruins it so if you must wear a necklace or bracelet, make it personal, give yourself a reason to be wearing it.
