I wonder how far they'll dare to take things. The population of my state is pretty heavily armed. Despite what you may hear from various media sources, there's not a single person on the planet who knows how many guns we have. We don't have to register them, and we can buy and swap guns privately to our hearts' content. There are a lot of people hiding guns in various ways too. There's no way they could ever really disarm us. Plus we have a ton of veterans. If you had a Venn diagram of people in my state who have well hidden weapons and people in my state who are veterans, there's probably a huge overlap.
Sounds like you are in a very good place. I truly wish I could move to somewhere like that. They didn’t need to use force here, just threaten us with fines. Melbourne is the diversity capital of the country and the soy latte capital of the world. The media bombarded us endlessly with images of the army marching through the cbd, police checkpoints on main roads, drones in parks, violent arrests at protests. I would be frequently woken up at night by drones or helicopters hovering above. But for the whole four months I never saw a police officer anywhere. When I asked other people, almost everyone said the same thing. The government used the media to manipulate everyone into compliance and 99% were only too happy to ‘do the right thing and keep everyone safe’
That’s great! It sounds like the brainwashing will have minimal effect where you are. It may be funny to see them try and implement a QR code system there.
For what it’s worth, this is not the case in my state. My girlfriend finished nursing school over the summer this year and went straight to work at a hospital.
