A Tweet rationalizing why he isn't posting audio (21 hours old) from the new realGonzaloLira01 Twitter account:
it's also weird that he gets into the discussion with people about whether his account is real or not. Kind of a weird thing to do if you're real, because you'd just get bored and think of delivering proof at another time. Also, I I expect that first thing to do for him would be to get into a Chilean embassy and have them put everything on record about his situation, to have a political reassurance for his safety. Going secretly to Belarus and making pictures in a café sounds completely moronic to me, when he's assuming that he's still on the run from somebody. Wouldn't the Belarussian Gov't also have an incentive to protect him and make it official? It's ridiculous. If he's worried about the "background noises picked up by the CIA", he can record a short voice message from under his bedsheets, while having the radio playing loud music in the next room.
It's 98% certain it's a fake account. Gonzalo would not let his family and friends in extreme fear, he would send a voice message.
By the way, a forum member on this thread asked me why I'd think that the Russians would see value in Gonzalo, enough to possibly swap him for some Ukrainian prisoner... Well, having listened to the message from M. Zakharova, we now know that the Russians indeed are/were quite appreciative of Gonzalo's honest journalism work.
So, if Gonzalo is still alive, which we have to hope he is, his Ukrainian captors could indeed exchange him for a Ukrainian POW. I mean, the Russians would apparently be willing to help Gonzalo recover his freedom, out of respect for his independent and honest job. So there's still a bit of hope.
I'm not. Buying anything until he's stable, in front of a camera and regularly producing video.it's also weird that he gets into the discussion with people about whether his account is real or not. Staying in hiding outside of Ukraine doesn't seem rational, he's not some kind of super agent.
Difference is John really knew his trade and Gonzalo is not a hacker.I'm not. Buying anything until he's stable, in front of a camera and regularly producing video.
John McAfee produced videos for year and years on the run. I'm sure Gonzalo is as smart as he was.
I hope I'm wrong, but i am willing to bet this is a psyop.
We need more than random Twitter posts to know one way or another.
My post had an inherent level of sarcasm.Difference is John really knew his trade and Gonzalo is not a hacker.
The way you write is unique. It’s like a signature. You can study it and determine punctuation and sentence structure and compare it to other samples to determine if something is real or a forgery. You can also take known writings and compare to anonymous writings and try to find if you can tie it back to a certain person. Having read some of CRP’s telegram chats at the start of the war, this new Twitter “feels” different. I doubt it’s the real deal.
