I'm not exactly sure how that's working either... He was a little hesitant to go full diatribe from what I saw... But it still wasn't friendly to the Ukrainian side.
He's not pulling any punches, calling Zelinsky a cokehead oligarch puppet, based on the Richard Medhurst interview Nineteen84 has posted above. I guess he feels emboldened by the fact that he's now a high profile figure whose removal would damage Ukie PR, but his is still a very unstable situation. He should try to get out of house arrest and Kharkov, maybe move into a local consulate or ask to leave the country.
If Ukraine start to lose badly and become desperate then the Ukrainian secret services might stop caring about PR and just get rid of him. Or even worse, Azov people could take over Ukrainian government and they definitely won't care about Gonzalo's well-being. Let's hope he is making plans to evacuate himself from the city.
Well, Lira has a Chilean and a US passport, if I'm not mistaken. That basically means he has to be protected, because if he dies through any type of entanglement, heads will roll. I think not even the current retard-administration can change that. They probably started an investigation against him, because it's the most effective way to shut him up and keep him safe at the same time. He signs some documents that basically force him to go easy on some issues, and if push comes to shove they can make another move to detain him for a certain period of time. At this point having any harm come to him would probably pose a huge political risk for the Ukrainian regime. I mean, he was gone for a week and everyone went nuts, governments were alerted etc.
You've been on to this aspect, and mulling it over, I agree. He is the type of personality that does and would do this. And I believe he has. I still pray for him and am happy to do so, but I do think he has a manipulative element to his being, his approach.

I should add that I’m not convinced his motivations in this aspect were entirely evil though. I think he was setting himself up to go out in a blaze of glory and become a martyr who creates a political problem for the Neocons. It’s something he was uniquely able to do as a dual US/Chilean citizen.
That said, I get the feeling because I’ve done something similar myself that had a cascading impact . It was me who baited Tim Pool into talking about the Great Reset; Which I knew would quickly be picked up and amplified by the multitude of “influencers” who take cues from Tim. It only took about a month after I did that to where most of the “intellectual dark web” was talking about Klaus Schwab and the Great Reset.
He was trying to set up a similar cascade effect by priming his audience to talk about people who just vanish, and going on every show he could in order to boost his profile and cause all those people to talk about it when he inevitably did vanish.
With Glowies and Globohomo being as stupid as they are (not IQ points, but with their strategic minds dulled by narcissism) my guess is that they did not realize that they’d taken the bait until after they’d apprehended him.

His US passport saved him. I guess SBU kept him alive but offline to listen how big echo it would create. Setting up his murder and blaming on the Russians wouldn't work because he spoke about them in favor.

His pinned Tweet below is like an insurance policy, because if they kill him, it would instantly validate and amplify all the other SBU killings he's listed, which would be a big blow to the Ukies in the propaganda war, so that was a very smart move on his part. The guy doesn't do opsec, but he has his own craft and set of skills, openly blackmailing the Ukrainian regime with relative impunity, a pretty gutsy move on his part...

If I were Ukrainian SBU, I would have "released" Gonzalo (keeping him under house arrest), but in exchange he would be required to, little by little, change his tune. Week after week he would become less anti-Zelensky, until finally he would post anti-Russian stuff.
Because if Gonzalo keeps posting (honest, actually) anti-Zelensky stuff, then why wouldn't the SBU re-arrest him?
If it's just a global PR thing, then the SBU might let him appear on TV, alive and well, but without giving him access to the Internet.
So why is the SBU allowing Gonzalo to keep posting true but incendiary anti-Zelenski stuff online? There's an agenda here. Or... is the SBU in Kharkov, secretly against Zelensky ?
In any case, if I were piano-humper Zelensky, I would be furious at Kharkov's SBU. First they can't find Gonzalo for weeks on (with ten percent of SBU's budget and manpower, I would have found Gonzalo in three days), and then, they eventually catch him, but after a few days release him and it all begins again, with Gonzalo reloaded like he's Keanu Reeves boosted on pisco.

I recommend his "Leave Now While you still can" video on the CRP YT channel to get a handle on why he ended up in Ukraine (with his Ukrainian family), probably not the best choice in hindsight but family ties must have swayed the decision.

His lack of OPSEC in Ukraine during livestreams really upset a lot of followers, I think we were all waiting for him to be bumped off at the hotel in Kiev a few weeks back. He seemed to ignore the comments and carried on speaking truth to power which of course very much upset some locals there, I don't think he would have made it out alive if he did not get out on the train back to Kharkov when he did. The hotel manager kicking him out was a blessing in disguise.
A very interesting man. He would occasionally say something about his background but not dwell on it. Education in Philosophy, History and Economics. His Dad was a Chilean Navy officer, and he mentioned several other family members in the Chilean military. His relationship with his Dad was not good, I won't say anything here but he mentions it in a recent video. He said it taught him to stand up for himself, and he does not suffer fools or cowards. He does get his feathers in a ruffle with trolls on line and needs to prove what he is saying is the truth. This may be his undoing, I hope he gets that under control.
The amount of global attention he is getting now is amazing. I hope he gets out of this mess and regroups with his family, writes a book, and fills in the blanks for us.

Anyway, if the heart condition thing is (sadly) true, and unfortunately Gonzalo will therefore and probably, except a miracle, die "within 18 months" from a heart disease, then I better understand the whole situation, including Gonzalo's renewed attacks against Zelensky after his first arrest/detention. He might be, consciously or not, looking for a "suicide by SBU" exit, in a blaze of journalistic glory?
In any case, I'll pray that G. Lira will, in spite of all odds, survive both the SBU and his heavy heart condition. He's smart, interesting, frank and courageous, so, he would be missed. Plus, his family obviously needs him alive and well. My prayers to his family, too, on this Easter day.

After discovery that he was alive, no one has posted a summary of what exactly happened to him. It's unclear with some saying he was captured, but no details. Can someone either summarize or point to the video/post where CRP explains it?
Also, the accusation that someone opened his iphone XR without his help is very weird. The FBI had trouble opening much older phones, and supposedly this was done by Ukranians in the field? I don't believe anything is unhackable but I also don't think it's such a fast/simple process unless he used a basic password like 1234.
