I don't really drink that often, but if I did I could get a 4 pack of beers for the price of one beer in a pub/club. I could also then drink them at home without awful music/having to deal with other people.

Good news! Many on those nightclubs/bars were once churches then the UK became godless & stopped going to church, Im hoping they will turn back into churches again.

Bizarrely there has been a ‘spike’ in young women getting drugged with their drinks or injected in nightclubs. The Twitter typing pool has called for a ‘girl’s night in’ to boycott clubs.

Basically its because mostly blacks and foreigners try and run gutter-game there, and the Liberal women are sick of it, but of course can't dare call out the racial factor. It's the same with all these 'i get harrased SO MANY TIMES! in just my normal day in London' grandstands that women do.
TBF i have a degree of sympathy for them, because for an attractive girl, or even just a standard 6, she will be leered at, and groped on the Tube etc, but overwhelmingly its by Muslims or blacks, but of course they cant dare call this out, so they just attack toxic masculinity.
It's like that case of those two lesbians that got assaulted on a London bus. It was pushed and pushed, until it became patently obvious it was blacks and muslims, then the case barely got another sniff in the press.
If it had been Gammon Foootball fans on their way home from the game, then all hell would've broken loose, they'd have had their ID's dragged through the media, and had their lives absolutely irreparably ruined.
If it's the usual suspects, it might get mentioned in dispatches re court appearances but that's it.
Literally right now there's a trial of 5 muslim men (in their 20s and 30s), that murdered a 16 year old white lad in Bradford. Not a peep in the mainstream National press. Hate to say it, but imagine if situation were reveresed. Riots in the streets, reprisals, probably family members of the attackers targeted and maybe even killed, family of deceased would likely end up in the House of Lords, like Doreen Lawrence.
Could go on, but what's the point. Modern life in modern Britain.

I consider an old person for nightclubs that are 25 years old! I "retired" of nightlife at age 22!
I know people in the 30-year-olds behaving like teenagers, going to nightclubs, almost every weekend.
I wonder if the presence of lots of Muslims in the European Union is making it more difficult for regular men to meet women. If women are constantly on guard against sexual predation by foreign men, does it make it harder for all guys to strike up a conversation at a nightclub or pub?

I know Scandinavia used to be considered a very popular spot among men on this site. Especially Malmo, Lund, Uppsala, and Stockholm.
I suppose the influx of young male migrants has permanently ruined those spots for single young men. Or perhaps I should say, those spots are ruined for as long as the migrants remain.

I went to the day before yesterday (from Saturday to Sunday, local time) in Porto Alegre and passed 2 nightclubs (1st weekend after receiving the salary of the majority of the Brazilian population) ...
The 1st was out of line and no lighting (did not appear to be rolling party there), but on the intermediary site for nightclub sales, said the tickets were sold out;
The 2nd had a line of about 20 people at 0:30 am on Sunday, and about 20 years ago, after the receipt of salary was triple from the line at 11:30 pm on Saturday (clearly, they were holding line, to call more people).
At Mc Donald's that is open at dawn, there was more movement!
I'm in a band that still gigs the bars about once a month in the US. The guys in my band are older, in their mid 50s, and they have a ton of good stories to tell about the "glory days" of gigging in the 80s and 90s. You could smoke and drink and both were cheap. There was no internet. Imagine that. People had to actually go out to meet people, in person.
There's a lot of factors that have resulted in the decline, but it's a shadow of what it was then.

It would not have been someone to deduce before that would happen! It would not be like anyone to predict that women would replace face-to-face approval (through nightclubs, bars, etc...) with virtual approval (through social media). It would be the same thing to "deduce" that pornography would replace sex for man (most men do NOT replace sex with pornography).

I reread the thread, and read about the gentrification thing. Looking at Porto Alegre (Brazil's southernmost capital), old nightclub properties are being replaced by the same proportion:

- Pharmacies;
- Sushi restaurants;
- Either continues the board for rent or sell.
