My confession is mild compared to the would-be eunuchs here, but I've come to realize that one of the reasons why I'm addicted to the great amount of affection I get from the opposite sex is the fact that my mother is a Livia Soprano-style emotionally sterile narcissist who never gave me the littlest amount of affection or approval. When I discovered back in middle-school that girls who fancy you give you unconditional affection my mind was blown and I became hooked.
