Coronavirus Lounge thread

Unfortunately I fear it’s already too late, here in Minneapolis/St. Paul it was 97 today and humid and there’s people with masks on outside alone. And I’ve seen it all summer.

I’m getting to the point where I’m just giving up on most people as they’re just dumb. The people who can see and have discernment I hope god puts them in my path. I know I live in a blue city, although 95 percent of the rest of the state is red besides the twin cities. But man, I feel alone!

Will everyone fall for it again? You can bank on it!!

(Sadly)

It's one of the most demeaning and dehumanizing things ever applied universally to a supposed free society in peace time, short of outright beatings.

I was thinking of an analogy earlier that could be used to drill home the point to apathetic robots.

Imagine if you leave your home, the government mandates that you agree to being physically raped on command by elitists and those who are part of the in-group power structure. That is what you would have to agree to for the privilege of leaving your home and doing activities in society. Imagine that.

That is how I view the SATANIC MASK thing. Because it is a lie. The mask is literally horrible for your health, as we all know, and will make you sick with prolonged use. Mask mandates are actual government violence against the people.

I guess this explains why I've seen so many more masks at the grocery store. Had no idea this was a thing until recently.

Funny how it's always ugly weird people, I know that's a terrible thing to say but it's the truth. The covid cult gives their lives meaning, it's sad as Christ would have filled that need so much better and stronger.

Also it's always disproportionately blacks, but that's because they live their lives according to whatever social media and a celebrity tells them sprinkled with some societally implanted narcissism and irrational fear of anything they don't understand....which is nicer to say than simply low intelligence.

I want to pity these people but they are also the enablers of it. The useful idiot moniker has never rang more true.

I think this was such a seductive reason especially for healthcare workers to give themselves over to the lies, even for those that retained some kind of critical reasoning, in the end the pride from being a “hero” or an “angel” or “saviour” overrided any niggling doubts. And for others, how easy it must be to be a hero just by following the rules, wearing a mask and lining up for your jabs. Though I know of some who did it to protect family members so it was not all selfishly motivated, but still.

I wonder also if all it takes now is for a switch to be pressed and millions will put on the masks, queue outside shops and with a little more fear mongering on the tv get another jab? Or has it been overplayed now and they might have to wait another ten years or so to pull another pandemic?

If you’re at high risk of serious illness or death from Covid-19, it’s time to dust off those N95 masks and place them snugly over your nose and mouth to protect yourself from a recent uptick of the virus, according to a growing number of experts.

That advice should go all the way up to 80-year-old President Joe Biden, said Dr. Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist

They can bring back the covid-hysteria at any time, but I think this is just a small push to sell some vaccines etc. to the most gullible, that will take place every autumn/winter season. It will take something like Trump getting elected again to go back to full panic mode. (with covid or something else like MERS)

“The virus is always lurking, waiting for openings, so I think Covid is just going to be a bit of a roller coaster, probably forever,” Wachter said. “I liken it to the Golden Gate Bridge: You’ve finished painting it, and the minute you’re done, you’ve got to start all over again.”

Reasonable take Johnnyvee, and time will tell, but I am thinking what if this is the beginning of act 2.

It is worth consideration. If, in 6 months, we are entering another full blown lock down, what could you do now to prepare for yourself and family?

It might be worth asking what could they do to make it worse this time around? Or to put it in other words, what should we prepare for if it's even worse than last time?

I think this is a good call. I agree with you because I think they are just stoking some chaos knowing that everyone realized how scammy the whole thing was, and they'd just like to finish the job on the covidiots to boot. It's clear to me that climate lockdowns are the next real push - much easier to claim and "support" with absolutely nothing to back the idea, but generalized fear and constant "change".

You know that's funny I was thinking about that the other day, and all of this stuff indeed is about meaning. Whether one ''identifies'' as a lamppost, a cola can, a tranny, intersexual, even a ''football supporter'', it's all things for the mediocre people who in the grand scheme of things don't seem to have an impact (the vast majority of every population obviously, who just goes to do the 9/5) to give themselves an identity. If I identify as a lamppost and I can find a group of people who do so too - now I have status. And if society applauds me for being a lamppost? Fantastic, now I have societal approval. Once again: STATUS. It always comes down to status and meaning, to fill the void everyone is feeling naggingly continuously.

And I keep saying it, for example the biggest liberals now do it for exactly that reason, and would've been the most pious would they've lived in the medieval kingdom of Poland-Hungary. This subset of people just looks around them what gives them the status and they do that. That also brings up an interesting question: what then is the effect of the timeperiod and region we're born into on the development of someone, and are there predisposed notions one can assume how a person will develop (aka personality), exemplified in the example of people who inherently look for that status and potentially meaning just going hardcore mode on whatever is celebrated in a certain society at a certain moment.

I personally cannot believe that someone, at least let's say under 35 who is on the internet/social media daily and knows his/her way around it, can with dry eyes say that they don't have a clue about what's up now. I mean, also regular platforms were flooded with ''conspiracy'' stuff, and literal debunkment of things like how safe the jungle juice was etc. They have been in touch with it regularly for 3 years - they just decided not to look into it. What a failed chance for, as we know, ''The Truth shall set you free'', which is such a profound and deep statement in the light of the latter years.

Looks like the vaccine can re-trigger heart inflammation even after an initial healing.
Two teenage boys who suffered heart inflammation following Pfizer’s Covid jabs and then seemed to recover had relapses months later, Italian researchers have reported.

Both teenagers showed evidence of new heart damage from the recurrences, including high levels of proteins from injured cardiac muscle. Scans showed one boy had new lesions in his heart wall, and he needed nearly two weeks of hospitalization.

The researchers could not determine why the boys suffered the relapses, which came 8 to 12 months after the initial myocarditis episodes. They called for tighter monitoring of anyone diagnosed with mRNA-caused myocarditis - and more research to determine if young people who suffered it might face severe future complications.

A study estimates 3% of those injected suffered heart damage:
A dose of Moderna’s Covid jab injured the hearts of about 3 percent of people who received it, Swiss researchers have found.

The vaccinated people did not show obvious signs of heart damage. But when researchers ran blood tests three days after the jabs, they found high levels of troponin, a protein the heart releases when it is injured, in many recipients.

“Subclinical mRNA vaccine-associated myocardial injury is much more common than estimated based on passive surveillance,” the researchers concluded. The paper was published last week in the peer-reviewed European Journal of Heart Failure.

Over 1 billion people have received mRNA jabs. The study suggests tens of millions of them may have suffered heart damage - and don’t even know they’ve been hurt.

Exponentially more than actually died OF covid (a flu strain)

Ohio becomes the THIRD state to detect highly-mutated BA.2.86 Covid variant that 'can infect vaccinated people better than other strains'

  • Some 2,000 Americans are being admitted to hospital daily, the CDC said
  • Hospitalizations for Covid have increased for the fifth week in a row
A highly mutated Covid variant, feared to be better at infecting vaccinated people than previous strains, has now been detected in a third state.

The BA.2.86 strain was picked up via wastewater testing in Ohio, the state's health department announced Wednesday, after the variant was detected in Virginia and Michigan over the past week.

Further analysis by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is ongoing to confirm the Ohio sample is the new strain, also known as 'Pirola'.

The CDC announced Wednesday it believes 'the large number of mutations in this variant raises concerns of greater escape from existing immunity from vaccines and previous infections compared with other recent variants.'

It comes as Covid hospital admissions across the US jumped 22 percent in a week, the fifth week in a row they have increased. The CDC is now forecasting an acceleration in new hospitalizations over the coming month.

Covid chaos in classrooms: Kentucky school district sends students home less than two weeks into year due to 'tripledemic' of Covid, flu and strep outbreaks

  • The school has shut its doors after nearly one in five pupils signed off sick
  • Fourteen staff members were also on leave with Covid, strep throat and the flu
A Kentucky school district has canceled classes soon after reopening after swathes of students hit by a 'tripledemic' of flu, Covid and strep throat outbreaks.

The district has shut its doors less than two weeks after it reopened following nearly a fifth of its students signing off sick.

Lee County School District, which serves just under 900 pupils in the east of the state, went back after the summer break on August 9.

But by the end of the first week, nearly one in five pupils had signed off sick with Covid, strep throat, the flu or other illnesses. Fourteen staff members were also on leave.

When attendance did not improve at the start of the following week the school decided to close on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It will run remote learning today and tomorrow. It is not clear when in-person classes are expected to start again.

All extracurricular activities, including sports and games, have also been canceled to allow for a deep clean of the school.

Superintendent Earl Ray Schuler said: 'We're sanitizing our buses and our buildings and giving our staff and our students time to heal.'

The district is split into an elementary school and a combined middle and high school, and had roughly equal numbers of students call in sick from the two schools.

Updated Covid boosters are expected to roll out mid- to late-September but are awaiting the Food and Drug Administration's approval.

Dr Danny Benjamin, a pediatrician at Duke University, told NBC News it is still early in the year to see a large flu outbreak. He predicted outbreaks would occur around early October.

The US flu season kicked in earlier than expected last year, in the first few weeks of October.

According to the CDC, there were 214 positive flu specimens — less than one percent of the specimens tested.
