Coronavirus vaccine thread

That's a ridiculous response, dude. And you know it.

It was an ad absurdum analogy to show why it's a bad idea to lie to your workplace about your vax status. The questioning poster has 2 overall posts on RVF and refers to a hypothetical company that may institute a hypothetical vax requirement after his hypothetical hiring.

The hypothetical company is going to require some kind of proof so you're not going to be able to lie or deceive about it for long.

Lying about the vax does not negatively impact others. You're not stealing. You're not harming. You're simply not complying with a corrupt regime. You're left with what you feel is no other option than to protect your most vital necessities to survive, your income and your health, which you pass down to your children. You're literally protecting your ability to be stable and contribute positively to society.

I said that we shouldn't comply. Lying about your vax status is pretending to comply. You're not going to be able to maintain the lie for long. And it does affect every other person in the same situation, likely billions.

Simply pointing out the ridiculousness if equating all lies as equal.

No one said that. What are you talking about? This isn't a philosophical discussion about the various gradations of lies and in what hypothetical situations they may be allowed.

And would I lie to protect my wife and children?

I don't know. How does that relate to lying to your employer about your vax status?

Damn right I would if I was backed into a corner. And God can judge me, with me knowing I did it with the intention to preserve the life and well being of those closest to me.

Dead men help no one.

Sure it sounds cool and full of bravado on the internet to tell someone to righteously take a stand and risk losing everything, become homeless, but rest easily knowing you were completely honest in dealing with the enemy.

It doesn't matter if you think it sounds cool or full of bravado. We cannot allow our employers to be the arbiters of what medication we put in our bodies and base our permission to work on that. It is a situation where individuals should think of how it affects a billion other individuals in the same boat instead of trying to temporarily game the system in the short term. Losing on this issue means that every worker in the world becomes a pharmaceutical slave with zero self-determination.

Then there's reality.

Have to do your best, with the best intentions while still surviving and often carrying the responsibility of loved ones.

The reality is if you game the system in the short term through deception, everyone will lose in the end when the ability to lie or deceive about it is gone due to proof being required.

I told the truth about not being vaxxed got sacked and now we're poor, do I regret this? No. Would I regret lying and/or taking the shot? Hell yes. Don't tale it no matter what. No way! at least I can look myself in the mirror.

To a young man wanting a job but it needs the shot... you've got enough time to find something else.

Luckily, my current employer hasn't asked and it doesn't look like others are asking either. Handy, as when the time will inevitably come, I won't have to lie.
Would I have been able to lie? Sure. If it means I can put food on the table and people would leave me alone then it would be worth it. Each to their own, I guess.

Well, if God allows them to pull this off, I'm sure He'll have His reasons. Live every day righteously regardless. We only die when God decides that it is time. Maybe you'll inhale the clot shot while you sleep, maybe you'll choke to death on your own saliva, it's all the same, no point worrying about it.

I just hope He'll let me live at least a couple years longer because I'm fairly sure I'll end up in hell if I die right now. I'm not even baptized, imagine all the unconfessed sins. I've had unsupervised internet access since the age of 10, Lord have mercy.
