New York’s rollout of its vaccine passport already has the markings of a five alarm dumpster fire. The New York State “Excelsior Pass” vaccine passport system, which was created by IBM, has so many issues that I wouldn’t be surprised if the program was scrapped altogether before the end of the calendar year. It has massive security flaws, a shrinking customer base by design, it remains incredibly impractical, and it’s incredibly easy to manipulate. Excelsior Pass sucks, thanks to the idiocracy that was responsible for its design and implementation.
Just received your second dose and you’re ready to hit the town? Not so fast! You must wait at least two weeks before your green check mark appears on your vaccine passport.
Has it been more than 90 days since your last dose? Rejected! You only have a 76 day window (more than 14 days, under 90 days) to acquire a vax pass, which has to be renewed every 30 days.
Received a vaccine or COVID test from out of state? Took a private at home test kit or a test from a provider that is not registered in the New York State central database? Looks like you’re out of luck. You will not be able to receive your prized Excelsior Pass, because your information never made it into the system.

When travel passes drop, it's a good bet that they'll be a digital extension of what we have now. So if your citizen/resident of a country, you won't require a vax to enter/board.
If you leave now and head to a country where you can get temp. res, you'll likely be able to return to the UK and have the option to leave.
The current rule in Australia is that Australians can't leave unless they are not ordinarily resident in the country. Fair to assume the UK will follow that.
The risk is that the UK demand vaccines to enter/upgrades to leave. Then the question is do you really want to return to a country that treats it's citizens like that?
Estonia is a test state for the digital passports (currently in place). The rule is citizens/residents can return even if they show symptoms of the disease.

This is the general attitude of the fanatics.
If the vaccine works, the unvaccinated are not endangering the lives of Klein or other vaccinated people. We are voluntarily accepting any risk of covid that the shot is supposed to mitigate and not receive it.
It is easily apparent that they want the passport not to protect people, but to punish those who disobey the orders issued on television.

I have roots and a safety net of family in the UK. If I move then I'll be going into an uncertain and unknown situation with no support network. I fear my family would not support my decision (and would therefore not be super helpful if I fuck things up). I still think God's plan involves me being connected and helpful to others, which includes family foremost. The dangers of falling into the temptations of satan are much stronger when you are alone in a foreign country.
Sometimes I watch movies and forget all this is going on and think, 'they can't force me to get this vaccine. And if it comes to not being able to go to the pub or do basically anything, I'll just become a total hermit. And in a new country, won't I be working online all day and living a somewhat reclusive life there too anyway?' So I don't know man. I hope things aren't as bad as you say, but your post struck a chord with my own darkest fears.
Yep they track. But it is very cheap and their currency very weak. This opens up a lot of newly found freedoms.As far as I know Turkey had serious tracking system in place for citizens/residents earlier in 2020 and one couldn't even get on a bus without scanning a code and getting a permit to travel.

If your family is likeminded like you, you better stay. But if they are not they will be those who pressure you the most to give in. (like happens in my case).

Just pick a place where you speak the local language or the language of commerce and you will not be isolated.
Also pick a place which allows for socialising and you will be ok.
Most destinations where you might choose to head to, foreigners will pretty much only be there if they are running from this nightmare, and part of the minority who know what's up.
In places like Ukraine/Belarus... pretty much all foreigners I've met (really not many) fall into that category, and have become good friends, because so few people are awake to this nightmare.
Family... what can you do man? I don't know your situation, but for me, either way it's massively divisive... the difference this way is I save the resentment of being pulled back into the pit.

I do not believe nor can anyhow imagine how a plan for decades can be possible to pull thru when it is even hard to decide going to the same holiday destination with 5 friends or going to the cinema with 10 friends.
It is more likely that human nature is always the same and it moves in cycles.

The only thing I worry about with moving is you just don't know if things will change in that country. You're maybe on a temp visa so have to fly out at some point...what if the vax rules have changed? Do you have to start travelling across Europe or whatever by bus instead?
Also, if it's a new country you have no idea how you will be able to adapt or fit in or where to go/what to do in a crisis. Espec if your family cut you off from support (which for me I think is quite likely since they will interpret this as a bit of a selfish fuck you if I did it). When you get to the new place, after the initial wanderlust has worn off - do you like it? Is it really better beyond just being not your home country? That's the tough thing to make sense of.
So basically staying makes more sense in a kind of safety by numbers sense.
But in terms of constantly evading the new normal? I agree the UK appears one of the most draconian enforcers.
But even if they want this vaccine passport I for one won't be a part of it and won't take the vaccine. I'm even realising I might have to die on this hill, sorry to sound ridiculously dramatic.
