I'm trying to understand what some of the guys here think would be the worst that could happen. Some of you guys act like one interview could kill all of his goals.

Remember one fact of human nature:

People would rather be liked than be successful.

That's why most people lose. They follow the herd to not be noticed.

That's the best way to be liked, right...to be like everyone else?

Well look around at "everyone else" and ask, "If that's the cost of being liked, it is worth it?"

True and luckily McQueen doesn't come across as someone who cares if he is liked. The one thing I know is you got to take chances in life if you want success.

I say he should do it just to piss off El Mech. hah

McQueen works in the entertainment industry in LA. Is there anything better than having fame and media exposure in such a case? With good luck and the correct vibe, this could go big. Not just book sales, but TV, media appearances, you name it.

I vote for turning them down. How much better is A Voice for Men doing since Paul Elam went on 20/20 or Nightline? The people you're marketing to don't watch that garbage. They have all the control in editing and all the experience in media to make you look like garbage.

TL;DR Limited upside; Huge downside. Turn them down. Go on after you blow up since you'll have widespread success on your side.

Remember though, this decision determines whether you stay anonymous or not.

Everyone, your family, friends, etc. will know about this.

If you're willing to deal with the bullshit that comes with that, then this is a good move that could really help your business along.

What's the big deal with being anonymous?

Fucking own it and you'll go places.

Hide in the shadows and you'll get scraps.

There was an interview with either Lou Reed or Tom Waits. They kept trying to ask him serious questions and he would evade or feed them bull shit. You might want to try that if they try to ask you loaded questions that have no good answer. The interviewer than has to play into your frame. I agree about having an unofficial recording, although they probably will have a way to prevent you from posting online. Stuff on youtube is often removed for shady reasons.

A TV hit piece is like a forged/dodgy thesis it dogs you when you get up the ranks because mainstream losers will always cite mainstream shit. Example is Roosh being placed in that wack SPLC list, fuckers reach for that shit each time even though the list has zero credibility.

If McQueen has goals to be a household name/brand you can side road the traditional avenues of getting the word out there.

They (the mainstream) need him more then he needs them... The Mainstream is so fuking irrelevant these days. Music is such a good example of this as dudes are able to tour globally off a Soundcloud and Bandcamp page, all the while royally telling MTV to suck their cocks. When they reach a certain level then they accept the Mainstream/MTV into their frame 100% on their terms.

Exactly. Men used to go out and do great things, then the media begged them for airtime and dared not smear. Now its people doing whatever shit they can to get a second in the media in hope it igniting. Giving any power to the media is dangerous. We make the news, not them.

Just don't lay on the casting couch is all I'm saying.
