Matt Forney is honourable; he sticks by his friends, and doesn't throw them under the bus when it's convenient, even when he's taking shit for it. He works hard, and does good reporting. He has his face out there, and he takes shit for it all the time. That takes courage. He's not in the best shape, but I'd trust him to have my back over a lot of others who'd cut and run - the sort of body builders who do it to get girls, rather than for the sake of themselves.
Does he have flaws? Sure he does - we all do - but unlike his detractors, he puts himself out there. He's an easy target to snipe at because he doesn't put on airs; he's a genuine human being.
And you do realize that Alt Right Dogs was a joke, slapped together in 20 minutes? Are you sure you didn't wander over from Kiwi Farms? That site might be more your scene.

Co-sign. In all the years I've had a working relationship with him from Reaxxion and Return Of Kings, he never let me down. He's dependable, a great writer, and doesn't gossip like many other internet personalities. I think we're fortunate to have on our side.
Forney is a great writer and a really smart guy who has done a lot for our side over the years, and I don't think he's ever claimed to be some world-beater tough guy or street fighter. That being said, if he wants to increase his influence and public stature on the alt-right he would be well-served to shore up the weaknesses apparent in that video. I agree with Atlanta Man that a few months of dedicated lifting and MMA would do wonders for him. Of course, it's possible he has some sort of injury or physical disability that prevents him from doing so, in which case there's obviously not much he could do about it. But who knows. Just some constructive criticism for our friend Matt, who I hope to see continue to grow in influence in the future.
Just looking at the way he walks gave me the impression instantly that he has banged up knees. Not sure why. I'm no expert.
That said, this whole election through to this very day has been a rollercoaster of firsts for everyone, and it's not surprising that a lot of the guys on our side of the political fence are still finding their feet when it comes to engaging out on the streets. We should be thankful at least that these guys had the guts to show up at considerable personal risk.
Self defence thought #354 (old but relevant). Calls to carry a gun for situations like these are misplaced IMO. Having the gun is good but at the risk of looking like batman you need to have other options available to you, specifically OC spray and/or a taser/stun gun. If all you have is a gun and those antifucks call your bluff then your choices are reduced to "get your ass beat and maybe killed" or "make the front page of tomorrows paper for all the wrong reasons".
Less lethal options are often more intimidating to assholes hopped up on righteous fury because they know you'll have no hesitation to blast them in the face with OC or hit them with a few thousand volts.
Afterthought: OK, so some of these right wing masters of the digital universe might not have a team of tough-guy buddies to follow them around and back them up, but what would they be willing/able to pay for that kind of support if it came down to it?

+1 to what Roosh said. I've worked with Matt a lot and I've always found him to be trustworthy, reliable, and genuine. I don't think he ever claimed that he was some sort of tough guy or brawler, and he's ostensibly getting threatened with physical harm for expressing his political and social opinions. Criticism, in-person bitching and yelling, online hate mail, all those things come with using your real name to express unpopular opinions. But actual physical intimidation and injury isn't something that anyone deserves who isn't infringing on the rights of others.
We can all be keyboard tough guys here, but think about the situation --- two people approach you who may want to do you harm. Is there any way to handle that situation with less downside than what he actually did? Walk away and film them. I'm in decent shape and have a martial arts background, and if two people are coming after me I'm still not going to stick around and get my ass kicked. Sure there's the chance they won't do anything, but I'm not going to bet my front teeth on it, especially with the wolf-like mentality of antifa (brave and violent when in numbers). What's the upside? You hurt one or both of them, in which case you may catch a hate crime charge because they're a couple of you-know-whats.
It may look "pussy" and undignified or whatever, but in the vast majority of cases, extricating yourself from a violent situation before it happens is the best move. Even guys with way more time than me on the bags/mat/squat rack etc. will tell you this.
