DSM, Personality Disorders & Orthodox Literature

I’d like to know if anyone has any literature to recommend (from an Orthodox perspective) or information from Orthodox Fathers, on Personality disorders?
I had read one of Jean Claude Larchet’s books in the past on Spiritual Disorders I believe it was called, but haven’t found anything else.
The secular perspective really pushes the dsm and the fact that people are just ‘born’ with these disorders. My thoughts are that this does a disservice to humanity because this steals any opportunity of true repentance and accepting God’s grace.

When I had asked my spiritual Father about this many years ago, he explained that these are untamed passions, and modern day science labels them personality disorders.

Not recommending any literature, just agreeing with thinking psychology is bunk, lol. There used to be more skepticism surrounding it but it's a big industry, plus as social atomization increases the "therapist" becomes a consistant feature.

I’ve wondered this quite a bit myself. I know someone who has some “personality disorders” who has benefitted significantly from repentance and becoming closer to God. I wouldn’t say this person is 100% mentally healthy yet, but they could be if they keep following Gods will. I’m praying that’s the case.

I think a lot of personality disorders are sinful and unhealthy behaviors that are fixable if a person follows God.

I truly believe this as well. I have witnessed instances in myself and in others where the caress of God’s Grace, through continual & sincere repentance, wipes away our stains and renews our souls.
