It is a slap on the wrist compared to the man who got 15 years for burning a homosexual flag. Smollett should get 1 year of hard labor a several strokes with a cane or lashes with a whip. Sadly, the USA doesn't allow this kind of punishment. These are the kind of crimes that should not get very long sentences but definitely deserve a good beating.
