Anyone who looks at actual statistics knows this worldview is false. There are countless successful minorities, girls do far better in school than boys, and acceptance of gay people is widespread.
In conclusion, the media doesn't think all of this is strange because to them it isn't. These are people living in a fictional fantasy land, not the realists who called bullshit on Morton Downey, Jr. in 1989.

I myself was picked up by the (all black) police in a small town in Georgia (where I'm from) once because they had gotten a call that a white boy was about to get murdered in the area where they picked me up. The police were nice to me and they were there to protect me but they were protecting me from a violent racial hate crime that was about to be perpetrated against me for just walking around. To give an idea of the gravity of what they seemed to have thought was going to go down, I had not one but three police cars with armed officers inside appear in front of me where I was on the sidewalk to pick me up. After patting me down and everything, the police took me to the station and left me sitting in the back of the car in the parking lot for a little while before taking me way out of town and dropping me off in the parking lot of a nursing home where the staff refused to help me or let me use a phone because they had just seen me get dropped off by the police.
I walked for about half an hour along the side of the highway until I got to a Popeye's chicken restaurant on a corner that, just by pure chance, my mom happened to drive around about 20-30 minutes after I had arrived and decided that there was no point in wandering any further. It was lucky that she saw me and picked me up because she never answered the phone back then (ambitious working mom and all) so I might have been stuck outside of Popeye's after they closed that evening if she hadn't driven around that corner.
Hate crimes and racism are real in the US but it is usually not white people causing them. Maybe it was like that in the 1960s but I was born in 1992 so I was never part of any of that crap and, for at least as long as I've been alive, I've only ever known the perpetrators of racially motivated aggression to be black and hispanic. I'm sure there must be white people committing racially motivated crimes out there somewhere but I've never seen it and I'm from the South. I hate to say that because I don't want things to be this way but it is what it is and pretending that it isn't will only put you in unnecessary danger.

So by now there is clear evidence he was faking. He didn't actually break his ribs or go to the hospital at all. There is no video of any other people in the area that fit the description of the supposed assailants. Video of him arriving at his building shows that he walked in with his Subway sandwich intake. His whole story has fallen apart completely, and the supposed threatening letter from a few days before was a pathetic joke.
