IKE - for a well travelled man like yourself it would be a good tool. I would put down places you have visited and some cool pics you have taken or in your case some of your projects.
You can have a page but doesn't mean you have to put a bunch of nonsense on it. I agree it is great to get a read on a girl, on the flip side when I meet a girl/woman who does not have it I am more intrigued.

Pure craziness.

In my 20's, a total of zero times I have gotten hurt from not having Facebook.

"Yeah to be honest I like to get to know people in real life, I can Instagram our text messages if you want to upload that to your Pinterest account and vet me infront of you 7,000+ followers on twitter".

If the girl is trying to vet you = either A. Weak game or B. she isn't that attracted to you and wants to dig through your account = again see point A. Facebook is similar to online dating = "vet vet vet" annoying.

If Facebook is cockblocking you, don't blame Facebook, blame yourself.

I quit FB about 2 years ago and I have not looked back. It has never been an issue with new people I meet. If anything FB is passe.

I'm thinking about getting a rotary phone and putting it on the kitchen wall.

I was even contemplating getting rid of electricity. But than I don't know how I would iron my underwear? I guess I could dry clean it.

I don't see any disadvantages to having a facebook. If you're worried about your privacy it's easy. Just don't put your number, birthdate, address, etc.

But having photos with people and a large quantity of friends will surely help.

That is actually a good idea.

I love landlines.

They do amazing things like never drop calls.

When I was growing up we had the push button phone with the extra long cord from Radio Shack. That way I could take the phone to another room and spit game in privacy.

The other big issue is you need to be "accomplished" to pull this off as well.

If you're broke living with your parents Facebook = looks like you're hiding the truth = that you're a dork.

If you're well off, in shape, dressed sharp. Being off Facebook = looks like you're hiding from many stalker ex-girlfriends = pussy moistens.

Bullshit. I had my facebook deactivated for some time, and I told girls that when they asked about it. That you need facebook is just a limiting belief.

I have never had a Facebook account and I have no plans to get one. Sure people my age are surprised when I tell them I don't have an account and some think I am weird but who cares what they think, at the end of the day its their actions that matter and I have never had a problem fucking girls without a Facebook account. If at the end of the interaction a girl asks to hook me up on Facebook without giving me her number I just say “oh forget it” and walk away. 60% of the time they will then give me their number and if not who cares? I don't.

The thing here people have said I like is "If she asks for it you're already hosed."

It either means she's distancing herself from you or is an idiot that wants to waste time on this.

I deliberately took a provocative stance on this to sort of see if I'd get more responses.

To be fair, facebook IS a great way to keep in contact with people that live far away. I just wish facebook was used in better ways other than attention whoring. Sometimes I get so fed up with these stupid bitches I went to high school with posts, I just straight up delete them. Other times I will straight up dis people hardcore and hope they delete me. For example, the other day this girl wrote this on her status update...

"WARNING: This is a rant.
I am so sick of hearing people say things like "All Erika does is party. She's always going out. She has time to go to the gym because she doesn't even work. She must not eat. Must be a rough life when all you do is go to the gym and party. I don't have time to go to the gym because I work."
Really?
Just a little FYI, because I am sick and tired of hearing this bullshit. I am a dental assistant at an Orthodontic office and work 40 hours a week. I am also in school full time for Dental Hygiene and have a 4.0 GPA. On top of that, yes I do go to the gym and work my ASS off every damn day. And even on top of THAT, I find time to go out and spend time with my friends.
SO. Enough with the jealous bullshit. Stop hating on my success like we don't have the same 24 hours in a day."

I responded by saying...
"I don't think anybody's saying that. Personally, I don't think anyone cares that much. I think you just wanted to tell everyone "how great" you're doing."

I deactivated my account last year and haven't looked back. It's amazing how much more time you have to get real stuff done when you don't feel compelled to check Facebook every single day.

How much time did you spend on facebook? I probably spend no more than 10 or 15 minutes on it a day unless I have a bunch of messages or something like that, in which case I don't mind spending a little more time on it talking to people I actually want to talk to.

I probably spent 45 minutes a day on there, all said and done. I'd check it when I got home from work, and invariably have to sit there, read and answer a few messages, check every photo I was tagged in to make sure nothing too scandalous made it into public view where potential employers/boss might find it, then somebody would want to chat, or some debate would start and I'd feel obliged to add my $0.02... I got tired of having to police my page constantly, deal with stupid comments from people I hadn't actually seen in person in 5 years, etc. I really don't miss it a bit, and my cellphone works perfectly to keep in touch with the people on there whom I actually care to speak with.

I can see that, however if that is all one used it for, it is basically just "email", isn't it?

I see what you're saying. But some people actually do post cool stuff on there. I like to see the good work and progress my homies are making that I don't get to talk to very often. 85% of my facebook feeds are bullshit, but here and there I get some genuine cool stuff on my feeds as well. I'm thinking I should really start to weed out these stupid bitches posting nonsense. I don't need to read that shit. It just makes it harder to scroll through to the good stuff.
