I'm 22. In America, having a "cool" facebook page is definitely a huge advantage to the vapid attention whores of my generation. They see the pictures of you having fun with other guys and good looking girls at different venues around the city and/or country and your value skyrockets in their eyes. Having pictures at parties with lots of girls def makes it easier on American college girls, because for some of them, facebook is more important than anything else in their lives. Sad, but true.

I started cleaning up and removing information from my facebook a few months ago though. I am leaving a base page with minimum info to keep in contact with close friends and family. See I have gotten lays with girls here in the states, but never a long term relationship. In Europe I experienced a relationship with a beautiful girl, who, didn't care about ever even asking about my facebook, and in Europe, I am much happier. In America, relationships with young girls (who are hot enough to actually want a relationship with) is almost impossible unless your a celebrity, SUPER rich, or a professional athlete, or willing to constantly play games with them. See its possible to have a relationship with these girls, but like Roosh said, Do you really want to? Also, these girls, if you are in their social circle, will put out for you, but they are like whores to the group. I'll never forget being in the same room with three other guys who all had recently banged the same sorority chick. It disgusted me, even though she was physically attractive. It just disgusted me.

If you are stuck in the states I say def build up a facebook profile with cool pics of you having fun and have lots of likes on your status' and all that bs. In my experience, it does pay off and make it a lot easier to get the lay if your socially proofed with a "super cool" facebook page. I was a late facebook adapter, but in my late teens jumped on board because the option was to stand on principal and lose out on a lot of chances to fuck or join the empire so to speak in terms of your sexual options with your peers.

Having said all that, I despise facebook. I honestly think the government is using facebook to spy on us. That's why I will never update my true city of residence on my facebook or post any relevant information. In a couple of years I will probably delete it altogether.

To be fair, facebook IS a great way to keep in contact with people that live far away. I just wish facebook was used in better ways other than attention whoring.

I can see that, however if that is all one used it for, it is basically just "email", isn't it?

I see what you're saying. But some people actually do post cool stuff on there. I like to see the good work and progress my homies are making that I don't get to talk to very often. 85% of my facebook feeds are bullshit, but here and there I get some genuine cool stuff on my feeds as well. I'm thinking I should really start to weed out these stupid bitches posting nonsense. I don't need to read that shit. It just makes it harder to scroll through to the good stuff.

Again, if they are your "homie", couldn't they just email?

Or call?

I suppose, but sometimes there just isn't enough time. When I was working 2 jobs, I didn't want to do shit but go home and chill at night when I got off. I could go on facebook at work, but calling didn't really work as I was constantly being interrupted. Especially with people who live in other countries, it's expensive to call. Though now with things like viber and skype it is making it much easier to call internationally. Plus you can't see the cool pics and videos a lot of my friends are posting over the phone. A lot of them are into extreme sports and things like that. I enjoy seeing their videos of them learning a new trick and things like that. Or pics of my friends traveling. Some of it is pretty good stuff. I also like some pages that put out some real dope stuff, such as a page I like called, "I fucking love science." They are always putting out cool info that blows my mind.

I have one but hardly post anything and only have family and male friends. I just tell girls "I got rid of it after some drama" if they ask. I've never had a girl freak out or dig further. I don't know what you're saying or how you're doing it for it to be a problem. I pretty much only mess with 18 year olds who are stuck on it.

How much time did you spend on facebook? I probably spend no more than 10 or 15 minutes on it a day unless I have a bunch of messages or something like that, in which case I don't mind spending a little more time on it talking to people I actually want to talk to.
Except the math adds up. Individually, as in each day, the amount seems insignificant, but over the year or years it's a lot.

15 x 365 = 5475 minutes which is 91.25 hours. In four years that's 365 hours. Which is roughly half the time to learn a language like Italian, Danish, Dutch, etc.

Time sinks add up.

Dude, I probably spend more time on the shitter each day. I'm not worried about the 15 minutes "wasted." Plus if I'm checking it at work it's more like passing time than wasting it.

Except they are not analogous because spending time on the shitter is a necessary biological function. Of course, unless you are just sitting on there for no reason which is rather unusual. Let the rustling commence...

I do have FB. As a matter of fact, I have several accounts, one for family and close friends. One for girls and people I meet around the world traveling and two other accounts for business.

I have a couple of rules:
a) I do not add girls in North America as I don't care about them in the first place.
b) I do add as many hot girls (from outside of North America) from the countries/regions I'm heading to next as I can on my 2ndary account and once they see my cool pics around the world, they get quite intrigued and this has been helping me not only to line up girls but also to seal the deal quite easily when I get to their city.

And for anyone with a business, whether offline or online, FB can be an absolutely monstrous cash machine on steroids! A couple of people that I know make 6 figures a month exclusively on FB. Let me repeat that: 6 figures per MONTH. Exclusively off of Facebook! They've got it literally down to a science. I've been reluctant initially to use FB for biz, but seeing them killing it, I'm now giving it a serious second look.

FB has also been a great platform for me to not only keep in touch with amazing people doing inspiring things around the world, but also to be able to connect with such people in a way that I wouldn't have been able to do via email or any other vehicles short of meeting them in person. Business wise, it's also allowed me to network effectively with some A list bloggers and some movers and shakers in the fields that I'm interested in. Do not underestimate the power of FB guys! It's not just for attention whores or companies stalking you! It can be a goldmine for biz and to network with the kind of people that you wouldn't be able to in any other ways.

So while FB might be a liability if one were to live in NA due to the drama caused by the low quality attentin whore femicunt in NA and the fact that employers check their employees' FB accounts, to someone like me, it's been quite the opposite, actually it's been a great asset.

To get the most of it, have at the very least 2 accounts: one for your family and close friends and another one for your party/travel life with a different name/nick. This way, you'd be safe, good to go and would get truly the most out of it.

This FB topic has been beat to death. I don't know what the big hullabaloo is about. If you want a FB then have one. If you don't then don't.

FB really doesn't add or take much away from your life one way or the other. It's like TV. Watching a couple hours a week is fine, sitting in front of it 10hrs a day is not. FB is just a tool, use it however you want. Discard it if you have no use for it.

If you want to spice up your facebook just add some forum members. I just watched a video of Scotian in the Phils and some pictures of Fisto in Vietnam. Be careful if you add Ali-B he gets wasted and deletes all his friends at night.

Facebook is what you make it to be. The control settings are pretty useful for regulating who sees what. I have it set to where unless a person is a friend of a friend, they can't look me up. I also restrict certain people from seeing certain posts/pics. The vast majority of my FB friends are people I actually know and have kicked it with. There's a select few who are high level acquaintances I haven't met but are friends of people I know (mostly international folks). To be honest, I have never gotten laid from using FB as some sort of DHV tool. I have epic globetrotting pics and posts of myself on there. Check-ins from venues around the world but none of that has actually gotten me laid or anything. For me it's a great source of intel on people and a great way to keep in touch and link up with far flung contacts. It also keeps me in people's radar. I can't tell you how many times people have hit me up when they are traveling and asking if I'm going to be there.

It's also a great way to keep updated on things I'm interested in, like news or events. By "liking" my favorite periodicals or brands my news feed presents very interesting information regularly.

Also, control what you post on FB. I don't post pictures, and have a status update MAYBE once every two months. If you want to use FB as a tool, have a separate FB account with just your travel pictures and pictures of your Porsche so you can DHV all the HB8-10's.

Yeah, I honestly still don't know what Facebook does for a person that is different than email.

For a biz, I get it. It can be valuable.

For an individual? It is email, with a chat feature.

I guess that makes Mork Suckerberg the greatest con man/hustler of all time.

Never ever ever used FB before, I get a few raised eyebrows when girls/people I meet ask me about it, but usually I just say I prefer to face-to-face contact rather than online.

Her: "What do you do?"

Me: "I really can't talk about it. It’s complicated."

Eh.

I disagree.

I have Facebook but I don't use it very often at all.

If you're paranoid about being ostracized for not having Facebook, you're reading too much into things.

What makes people think "weird" is when you have facebook but hardly any friends, or nobody ever comments on your shares and status updates.

Simply not having Facebook is not a bad thing, it might even be a slight positive.

In game, Facebook is a definitive disadvantage. I find that if you get a girl to Facebook it's too tempting to never text or call, and girls seem to see it as "weak" if you only contact them on Facebook.
