You know how much the tickets cost? My boy went for the Mayweather vs Del La Hoya and got nosebleed for 1200 that was supposedly sold out. They were selling tickets at the door for 800 in his same section.

How many guy's asses does Floyd have to kick before the haters will admit he is generally not beatable? There is a whole thread on here about how the Ghost Guerrero was the guy to finally beat Floyd, with all the haters piling on. And he then summarily kicked Guerrero's ass - to barely a whisper. Knuckleheads.

I'm not sure and if Mayweather is really going to fight Alvarez in September, tickets may not go on sale until July or even August. If you really want to go to the fight, my recommendation is that you keep checking the Ticketmaster website to see when tickets go on sale and the same day they go on sale, that you go to the nearest Ticketmaster outlet and pay for the best available seats in cash (if you are inclined to pay with cash). If you go to the Ticketmaster outlet the first day they go on sale, you should be able to get a decent ticket for $1,500, or nosebleed for much less. Last year, on the day of the Alvarez-Lopez and Martinez-Chavez fights, I could have bought a ticket in the first few rows for something like $3,000 for Alvarez or $5,000 for Martinez from a scalper/ticket agency. I considered it, but decided that it wasn't worth it. Your best bet is to probably hit up Ticketmaster on the first possible minute of the first possible day.

^ Froch is awesome. For all the alpha-beta debates on here, he's a fucking alpha. In interviews he comes across very well.

Looks like this thread was a real airball.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has Saul "Canelo" Alvarez as his next opponent, scheduled for a Sept. 14 bout in Las Vegas. The undefeated boxer announced on Twitter Wednesday night that the fight is set and will be held at the MGM Grand.

Canelo has been "the guy" for Mayweather to fight for some time now, but was passed over for Robert Guerrero earlier in May. Mayweather (44-0, 26 KOs) easily dispatched Guerrero, winning a 12-round unanimous decision after a year's absence from the ring. Mayweather looked as though he hadn't missed any time at all, which prompted fans to clamor for a tougher challenge for him.

And at this point, Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KOs) seems to be that tougher challenge. He's never lost in the ring, though he did fight to a draw in his sixth fight. His last fight was a 12-round unanaimous decision win over Austin Trout held on April 20.

But......

After reading this on Fightnews.com, ESPN and other sites....not ONE mention of the weight. Floyd is the WBA "Super Champion" at 154 and Canelo is the WBA "Regular Champion" at 154, but there were reports that Floyd balked at fighting Canelo at 154. Plus, I cannot imagine Canelo agreeing to fight at 147 (he comes in the ring at 170 for his 154-lb fights).

What is the weight?

I just booked my flight to Las Vegas for September 12 to September 22. Regardless of what happens with regard to the negotiations between Alvarez and Mayweather, there is a 100% chance that there will be quality fighters and/or quality fights in Las Vegas on September 14. If I were to sit and around and wait for Mayweather to make an official announcement about whether he will be fighting on September 14, and if so, who he will fight, flights and hotels may quickly fill up.

It is my position that Mayweather has never ducked anyone, but if he does not agree to fight Alvarez in September, I will probably change my opinion on that matter.

Good on your for going out there for a fight weekend.

Never ducked anybody? What about Pac-Man before he took those recent losses? Ball was always in Money's court...

Not this again.

"When" did he duck him?

A small case could be made that the fight should have happened in 2011, but that is a pretty small window. That doesn't take in account the business aspect.

The Business of Boxing is complicated.

Neither of them "ducked" each other.

About Floyd and his "ducking". The case could be made that...

At 140, he could have taken on Kostya Tszyu before Hatton came along.
At 147, he could have had Margarito when Margo was tops in the division

I won't criticize Floyd for ducking Paul Williams because personally ALL OF THE WELTERWEIGHTS ducked P-Will at 147

By the way, I am a Floyd fan.

I appreciate your opinion on this.

The timing of those fights was wrong.

In 2005, I don't think Floyd had the juice to make the Tszyu fight. Remember, Floyd really became "Floyd" ie the #1 draw, after the Oscar fight in 2007. If anything, a case could be made that Tszyu "ducked" Floyd. Although that didn't happen either.

No one was calling for a Tszyu VS Floyd fight back then. Although in retrospect, it would have been great.

I am not sure when the Margarito fight would have happened either.

Margarito fought Mosely and lost. That is the time it could have happened. Or if Margarito won that fight.

Instead, Mayweather fought the winner; Mosely.

Margarito has no case.

Pac-Man eventually relented on his stance against taking those drug tests and even told Mayweather he'd take a smaller cut in the purse.

It should have happened in 2012, then Mayweather had to go out and beat his baby mama.

Things happen and that fight is one of them.

Not sure how this means Mayweather "ducked" Manny.

Manny gave Mayweather every option to say 'Yes.' He didn't. He played into Mayweather's ego and Mayweather still didn't want to fight.
