I couldnt get tickets. I thought the promoters were playing games but now I realize it would be hard. I have officallygven up.

I already got my room reserved for the Luxer though and three days off before the 14th. The decision is should I go to Vegas anyway and watch the fight at a viewing, drive to Monterrey and watch the fight, go to DR and watch the fight there or try to do a five day Rio trip and hope I can find the fight.

Kinda leaning towards Monterrey or DR. If anybody has a plug for some 350 tickets please PM me. Willing to pay 500 for them. Appreciate it.

Damn, this fight is soon, Sept 14th I think.

Who do you guys think is going to win?

I'm so happy there a few boxing nuts on the forum. I think Mayweather will win, and I can't see him losing before he retires. In a way, as annoying as I sometimes find him, I want him to retire undefeated. Then I can say "I was around in the era of Floyd Mayweather".

On a British note, there's another fight I'm looking forward to in September, but more for the circus surrounding it. Haye v Tyson Fury. With a name like a Street Fighter character you'd expect him to be amazing, unfortunately, he isn't!

Mayweather by unanimous decision, eight rounds to four. No knockdowns. Alvarez has a chance in this one, but if he doesn't do some serious damage in the first three rounds, the rounds Mayweather spends figuring the other fighter out, he is pretty much screwed. Also, I was pleased to see that the judge who (incorrectly) had De La Hoya winning the fight with Mayweather is no longer scoring fights.

I think that is a pretty accurate assessment, and I can see that happening for sure.

Yeah, the blueprint is there to beat May; rough him up early, foul him, go to the body. All easier said than done. If May starts pot shotting him and tying him up and sticking his elbow in his eye socket on the inside in round 4, it will be a long night for Canelo.

I always think it is interesting when you see the two guys in the ring together and you can see who is bigger. A lot of times it is really hard to make a call before that moment.

Here are some press conference photos:

Canelo looks big, but May almost looks bigger.

Crazy.

Side note:

Check out De La smiling his way to the bank...

What do you guys think about the co-feature Lucas Matthysse vs. Danny Garcia? I think it can really go either way. If Garcia can stay on his feet for six whole rounds, he has a really good chance of winning either by a decision or by a late-round knockout.

I think the next step for Mayweather after September 14 is either a rematch with Alvarez or a fight with the winner of the Matthysse/Garcia fight.

Austin Trout beat Canelo in my eyes, and Mayweather is much better than Trout. I think Mayweather at -270 is a safe bet, but I'm hoping for more late money on Canelo from the Mexicans to knocks that line down to -250.

The best fight of the night though is Matthysse vs Garcia. I know Matthysse is a heavy favorite, but if Danny Garcia can take some of his shots there's a chance that Matthysse will get fucked out of another decision.

I'm placing my bet Friday morning, the day before the fight. I'm fairly confident that if I shop around I can find -250 odds or even better somewhere. In the past, I have seen the Riviera have odds favorable to the non-Mexican fighter. I have a feeling Gold Coast may be good too.

Or maybe we can hope a fight with the winner of Brandon Rios VS Pacman.

Or Mayweather vs Canelo: Sergio Martinez wants the winner (although I guess that has a ton of hurdles to happen).

With the current feud between Golden Boy and HBO and the fact that Top Rank fighters such as Pacquiao only fight on HBO, I seriously doubt that such a fight could happen. We can always hope though.

Martinez still has a flashier boxing style than either.

I'm just watching this, it's three parts in, but use your browser to go back. Utterly fascinating. Shame Nigel Benn wasn't around the table. For my money, a prime v prime tournament - RJJ takes everyone out.

Perhaps I should start a boxing thread like I did with soccer.

Has anyone been to a Mayweather fight after party before? There is a party with Diddy scheduled at Palms on Saturday after the fight. The few pictures I was able to find of previous after fight parties looked pretty bad and make me think that there is point in going to the party.

The judges for the Mayweather/Alvarez fight will be Dave Moretti, C.J. Ross, and Craig Metcalfe. Dave Moretti is a good judge. I've never seen a bad decision from him. I know nothing about Metcalfe other than that he is from Canada. The problem here may lie with C.J. Ross. She is one of the two judges who had Timothy Bradley winning the Manny Pacquiao fight. In my opinion, having her judge this fight increases the chances that something unfair will happen. Kenny Bayless is the referee. No problem there as far as I'm concerned, although I would prefer Steve Smoger. Smoger seems to stick to the east coast and other countries.

Im looking into a flight tomorrow but it looks like I will be going to Monterrey to watch the fight. Go down there and talk shit with my boy. Ill keep you posted.

I need to watch the Nelo Trout fight. Probably tomorrow. I was a Trout fan but still surprise some people had him beating Saul. I am honestly still nervous though. Dont know who to bet on. Sure money or upset. Havent looked at the lines yet but it probably wont be worth it to bet Nelo. We will see.

I am getting excited. Eight more days baby.

I can't wait for this fight, counting down the days, I really think Canelo is a very good challenger to beat Mayweather (other than Timothy Bradley) I think this will break the Mayweather vs De La Hoya records too!

The best odds I have found are -240 for Mayweather at Gold Coast. Other places are around -270 or -275.

Is there a way to bet for KOs and stoppages before the 12th round? It appears the only bet is choose a winner like a money line bet.
