Floyd Mayweather already trying to duck out of Canelo Alvarez fight

Alvarez tried to bring the fight to Mayweather, but May was just too elusive and wouldn't let Alvarez get him with the big right hand. Most of Alvarez's shots on May were left hooks to the body and a few left jabs. Gotta credit Mayweather's defenses for preventing a guy like Alvarez dominate him with his size. He forced Alvarez to fight a boxing match which Mayweather is always going to win because he's a pure boxer.

Not the kind of fight I wanted but it shows that Mayweather is likely going to ride out on top when he eventually retires.

Why do they let women judge boxing? She's terrible at what she does and made 8 grand for zoning out and seemingly paying no attention while the fight was going on.

Anyway it was obvious to me that Mayweather was a better boxer than Alvarez once the first round was over. #hashtag #Moneyteam

Dam, Mayweather is just pure masterclass, and his experience over Canelo definitely showed last night. Canelo had no response and just couldn't get into his gameplan. Mayweather will always stay unbeaten.

Alvarez was fighting the mental game from the weigh-in on. When Floyd tried to get him to take a picture with him and the belt, Canelo refused. Early in the fight, Canelo tried to rough up Floyd, because that's the only kind of fight he had a chance of winning. He had to know he couldn't intimidate Floyd, but needed to show him HE couldn't be intimidated. At the same time, Floyd takes his opponent's will by showing him he can hit him at will, yet you can't really hit him back. He has you afraid to open up offensively, because you KNOW what's coming back. For a while it was cat & mouse, with each guy trying to get the other to get off first, so the other could counter. That's Floyd's game, not Canelo's. It ends up leaving fighters paralyzed, not knowing what to do. You saw it in Canelo during the last 3 rounds, where at moments he looked drained and totally confused.

The other thing is that trainers seem to think there's a book on Floyd. There isn't. How many have gone into fights saying they have to go to his body early? The trick is, Floyd gives up some body early. He lets guys hammer away at that, because his mid-section is rock solid. He actually picks a lot of that off also, so you're not really denting him. There IS no book on Mayweather, because he gets a look at his opponent over the first few rounds, adjusts to HIM, then starts picking him apart. His opponent can't adjust to him, because he doesn't give you anything to adjust to.

Canelo is a really good fighter. Floyd is an all time great.

Once again, Floyd gave us a lesson in how to box.

That was beautiful to watch. That is the "sweet science".

"Hit and don't get hit"

Floyd reminds me of Bruce Lee. His style is like water. Whatever you do, he will wrap around it.

It's a shame he never fought Manny. Manny would have had a chance due to his aggression and work rate.

Boxing judges get paid off, what else is new? Its a corrupt sport. The Mob is still heavily involved. I wouldn't be surprised in a Mexican cartel paid for that draw..

Floyd Mayweather is the best of all time in my opinion. The only person who comes close is Sugar Ray Robinson, and unfortunately his Welterweight days are not recorded, nor are his statistics (punches landed etc).

Piece of shit judge had it 114-114. How in the hell do you givr Nelo six roinds? Really didnt he get docked a point for the low blow? Bitch had him 7-5. Crazy. They were saying another one of her judgements was shady on a recent fight.

I hope Amir Khan doesnt get the match. I was looking forward to a cheaper match in Vegas so I can go this time. If Khan clears Alexander this December he will probably get a shot in England.

Would Mayweather really say fuck the buys, fans and head over to England for a fight? Who knows

Mayweather has a 6 fight deal with Showtime as per here

http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbad...ther-hits-jackpot-with-new-showtime-ppv-deal/.

He's fought the first 2 so far, but the contract has him making probably 200 million+ before PPV revenues. He has a his own promotion company so every fight his company handles practically everything right down to the opponents purse. That's why he get way more money than his opponents because he promotes his own fights!

I highly doubt he'll leave the USA, but he might go to an even bigger venue with in the Country. Alavarez fought in San Antonio at the Alamodome early this year and drew a crowd of 40K. There have been bouts at AT&T Stadium(Cowboys home) and with a draw like Mayweather we could be talking some big numbers.

How did Canelo rack up 43 pro fights at only 23 years old, whereas Mayweather is 36yo and has only 44 fights?

Canelo turned pro very young and fought a lot.
Alvarez has had a lot more than 43 pro fights. In his early years, there were many more pro fights in Mexico of which there is no record.

The judging of the fight was terrible. Everyone knows about the one judge who scored it a draw, but the other two gave Alvarez 3 and 4 rounds. I'm not even sure if Alvarez actually won a round period in the fight never mind multiple and especially 6 of them.

After the Ricky Hatton fight, Mayweather said that he had always wanted to fight in England, so there may at least a slim possibility that he would head over there. The rumor is that Mayweather's hands are injected with something before every fight and that Nevada is either the only state or one of the only states which permits that. If that is true, I am not sure how that would go over in England. Mayweather has said that in 2014, he will be fighting on the Mexican holidays in both May and September. It makes no sense that he would be fighting a Pakistani boxer from England on a Mexican holiday.

Did you end up going? How was the experience? One of my boys told me the weigh in was crazy.

So can I book the MGM for May 3rd then? Haha. I honestly do not know who would be next. I think he will make Danny Gracia was for September. Broner in '15. I doubt Sergio will drop down. Possibly a catch weight of 155? Sergio not being at the fight makes me think he wouldnt drop. Even is Alexander wins, it will not be a big draw to fight him. Marquez doesnt want any but offer him 20M it might chanve his mind.

Mayweather will probably announce in January so we have four months till then.
