I hope Amir Khan doesnt get the match. I was looking forward to a cheaper match in Vegas so I can go this time. If Khan clears Alexander this December he will probably get a shot in England.

Would Mayweather really say fuck the buys, fans and head over to England for a fight? Who knows

Khan has too many holes to fuck with Mayweather. I'm sure they could promote it and create interest, but it wouldn't be much of a fight in the ring.

The rumor is that Mayweather's hands are injected with something before every fight and that Nevada is either the only state or one of the only states which permits that. If that is true, I am not sure how that would go over in England.

Mayweather's hands are injected with what, according to the rumors?

I thought Canelo would put an end to Floyd's streak seeing how bigger he was than Floyd. Didn't matter at all. The few flurries Canelo landed were solid punches. If he was quicker and had studied Floyd better, it could have been a bit different.

To all those who think Floyd is an arrogant scumbag, I beg to differ. He actually loves his profession. If you noticed, Floyd smiled intermittently throughout the fight acknowledging Canelo's punches landing. Floyd is a true professional who fights not only for the money but for the love of the sport. He appreciated Canelo's flashes of skill.

Who's next? I have an idea but doubt it'll ever happen: Mayweather Jr vs Broner

The rumor is that his hands are injected with lidocaine, xylocaine, and possibly other substances. I have no idea if there is any truth to those rumors.

After the Ricky Hatton fight, Mayweather said that he had always wanted to fight in England, so there may at least a slim possibility that he would head over there. The rumor is that Mayweather's hands are injected with something before every fight and that Nevada is either the only state or one of the only states which permits that. If that is true, I am not sure how that would go over in England. Mayweather has said that in 2014, he will be fighting on the Mexican holidays in both May and September. It makes no sense that he would be fighting a Pakistani boxer from England on a Mexican holiday.

Khan irritates me, he as an unjustified arrogance. However, there is a lot of unnecessary hate for him in England because he isn't 'English' and, more importantly, he's Muslim. I don't know why I put that in quotation marks to be honest, because he isn't. If he's 'English', then what am I? He's a Pakistani-Briton. Regardless, he's not a bad guy. If Hatton had a similar record/form people would still love him because he's 'one of the lads' so to speak. Prince Nazeem was loved, but this was before 9/11 etc. He also had a different type of arrogance, it was playful.

Anyway, yeah I think that fight will happen at some point, because FM has nobody left to fight now really. He could go up a weight, but it's too risky for him and he has nothing to prove.

Floyd was 150 at the weigh ins and 150 for the fight. He cant go any bigger. Who is at 147 for him to fight? Alexander? Bradley?

The cupboard is bare.

I heard he was several pounds under 150 on the morning of the fight and had to eat heavily to weigh 150 on fight night. He actually lost weight between the weigh in and the morning after.

I thought that was common knowledge rather than a rumor.

Mayweather has "glass" hands.

A couple of years ago it looked like he was going to lose his career to his broken hands.

He uses Winning brand boxing gloves because of his hands. You can't hit as hard with Winning gloves as you can with Reyes.

Here's a basic breakdown:

Apparently Hopkins wants to fight Floyd at 160! Regardless of it being one of the more crazy matchups I've heard of - it would be a fight strictly for the tactical/technical purists, and thus one of the most unaesthetically pleasing fights ever.

Canelo is a really good fighter. Floyd is an all time great.

Once again, Floyd gave us a lesson in how to box.

That was beautiful to watch. That is the "sweet science".

"Hit and don't get hit"

Floyd reminds me of Bruce Lee. His style is like water. Whatever you do, he will wrap around it.

I agree. I think most people grew up in the Tyson era of one punch and done boxing.

Floyd is a boxer. He is trying to score points.

Not bad for a night shift.

I love what Floyd does in the ring. It can get boring watching a fighter toy with opponents the way he does, but at the same time I truly enjoy watching him. Don't get me wrong - I love watching guys get put to sleep also, but mainly because it leaves no doubt and eliminates the potential controversy of seeing it go to the cards and getting decisions like THIS.

Yes, Tyson's ability to generate power and torque was legendary. One punch knockout power!

Very entertaining to watch.

Ironically, Tyson was also very well schooled in the arts of defense, footwork, head movement, fainting/feigning, jabbing, spacing/distance control, and psychological warfare.

Mike was really an old school type of fighter. He studied all the greats. Cus D'Amata had one of the largest and greatest collection of old fight tapes in existence. They watched old fights almost every night when Mike was a teenager.

Mike's boxing IQ and boxing fundamentals were very underrated. He could tell you exactly why Floyd does what he does.

Damn! I wonder how much Oscar de la Hoya made on this fight?

I must say, nothing about that fight was boring to me. That was a master at work. The top of the craft. The worlds greatest on display.

But, I am a San Antonio Spurs fan so you know how I am.

Where does Floyd go from here? He's head and shoulders above anyone at Welerweight/Light-Middle. My fear is that Middleweight, especially against the GGG's of this world, could ruin his legacy as he'd lose. Hopkins, as I said earlier, is a crazy fight. I'd watch it though.

Floyd Mayweather was filled with holiday spirit but the giving ended when it came to details about what may come next in his boxing career.

It was the night before Thanksgiving and Mayweather had big plans for his entourage, an NBA game that night in Detroit, a massive feast prepared by his personal chef Thursday, another NBA game Friday in Indianapolis.

"I love the NBA," Mayweather said. "I'm just enjoying myself, having fun, that's it. Nate Jones is here, my team is here. We're having a great time."

But when it came to his boxing career, the pound-for-pound king from Grand Rapids only hinted that it won't be long before we know who fills in the blank for Mayweather vs. The Other Guy next May.

"Next week. I'm looking forward to next week," Mayweather said. "But as for me, right now, I'm not thinking about boxing."

He hovered near the buffet at the Champions Club at The Palace of Auburn Hills, eating little, while his friends and family dined.

The identity of Mayweather's opponent for an anticipated May 3, 2014 fight remains uncertain.

Most speculation has centered on Amir Khan of England, a proposal which has met with lukewarm response since it was floated shortly after Mayweather defeated Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on Sept. 14.

Mayweather made it clear after that fight that he would take a vacation until after Thanksgiving, and fighting wasn't much on his mind the day before the holiday -- and certainly not anything that involved Manny Pacquiao, his archnemesis who decisioned Brandon Rios nine days ago.

Discussing any potential Mayweather-Pacquiao fight remains a fool's errand until 2015. Pacquaio's contract with promoter Top Rank Inc. expires after 2014, and Mayweather refuses to do business with Top Rank founder Bob Arum.

Mayweather said he didn't watch Pacquiao-Rios and went to a kickboxing event in New York instead, with Stephen Espinoza, the executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports and Event Programming.

Asked about Pacquiao, Mayweather offered a one-word response:

"Who?" he said.
