Manmores strike again.
That was on either the E or F train because it was stopping at W4th and going to Jamaica. Several years ago I was taking the F train from Carroll Gardens into Manhattan. It was a Sunday afternoon and the car was mostly empty except for 4 black kids (late teens-early 20s) (2 girls, 2 guys) sitting across from me.
The 2 girls start to heckle me severely. Calling me fatty, baldy, and all sorts of things trying to provoke a response. They were nasty and the 2 guys who were big, just laughed. The guys didn't say anything, because if they did then that crosses the line where I'm going to have to defend myself, and the girls never got out of their seats and approached me because that also crosses a line.
But they did everything else you can imagine to escalate and I had to just sit and take it because even though I'm a big guy who played football for 15 years, I know 4 thugs against 1 in a deserted rail car are not good odds for me. I kept my eyes on them the whole time but I didn't say a word back and I really wanted too.
In 10 years of living in the city that was the only time I felt unsafe, and it was at a moment I least expected it to happen.
Did I feel they singled me out because I was older, dressed well, and "white"? Absolutely.

It seems regardless of the behaviors of women, there will always be some white knight riding in to save the day. It's really pathetic. Even more so when the woman they are trying to "rescue" behaves in such a deplorable manner.
