Nobody's saying that all the women were coerced into making porn. The way GDP operated was - 1. Craigslist ad for "adult modeling" which many assumed could be anything from nude modeling to solo shoots etc. 2. GDP sent emails saying "adult shoot" and then told them on the phone it was a hardcore sex scene. 3. Hesitant girls told it was for private collectors and DVDs in Oz etc. Most girls who came to the shoot did know it was porn, but some did think it was nude modeling or just general modeling. Those are few cases but obviously the media highlights them in order to show what scumbags the GDP guys are. Overall, they shot around 480-490 girls resulting in 545 boy-girl scenes and around 70-80 solo scenes. What has been established is that they were lied to about the distribution. And the scam has been going on since around episode 100 till the very end if you look at the witness list. You could say that even the earlier girls are trying to save face but why didn't GDP bring models from their side who would testify on how awesome GDP was to them and how they were never lied to. Only model witness they produced was for another site owned by them - mompov, a MILF site. and that woman had lived with the two producers for a few months. In fact, even with mompov they used similar tactics. The ones who did not know it was a porn shoot, you can see in their videos that they are not really into it. Esp. the Jane Does who have accused the guys of coercion, not allowed to leave and sex acts they did not want to do. The ones, who did know it was porn from the beginning, yes they are more enthusiastic but even they had complaints about being made to do certain stuff and how long the shoot went on. They were told it was for 5-6 sex acts for just 30 mins but the shoot went on for 4-5 hours and made to do more than they agreed to. Some of the girls asked for the male talent's STD tests and were stalled or shouted at for being demanding. Some got the clam from the guy. The pay part. The 5k-6k figure was just to get them interested. One of the GDP employees who is now testifying on the girls/gov's behalf has proof of that. Pratt just wanted to get them on the plane ASAP and told them a high number. Almost all the girls' pay was reduced after the scene was shot by citing her body flaws. Or asked to do one more scene in order to get the agreed to amount. Also asked to do more stuff in the scene etc. The pay would normally be reduced by 40-50%. So most girls just made 2-3 grand. The site has been offline for two weeks now cause it has been taken over by a receiver who is going to collect the money on the Jane Does' behalf. The other site is also unable to add new members. I think a lot of young girls will learn something. That Craigslist is not the place to find high paying general or even adult modeling opportunities. There is no such thing as private collector and how shady the porn industry can be.
