It wasn't "women" in general. Working for a female manager who answered to a (male) founder was great. She was diligent, focused, and let me do my thing.

The problem came about when the organization deepened, and I was pushed down to a female project manager under the initial female manager.

That woman was exactly what you're describing, cocooning herself and developing a variety of tactics to avoid accountability. I left a paper trail even while she actively destroyed evidence and discussed it with the original manager, but she was too conflict-averse to confront her directly, and after several colleagues, as a group, talked to her directly about her behavior, she simply lied to our faces and denied doing what she'd done.

I had a better offer and gave notice within ten days. Was not worth fighting it.

Google hires people with a very specific mindset, and if you don't share it you never get hired, no matter how good your professional skills are.

Probably no company on this planet emphasizes diversity of races so much yet is so strict about lack of diversity of thought. They were well known for this since their inception, way before the sjw era. If you don't "think like a googler" you aren't hired, period.

I personally know a few unusually talented cs guys who didn't even apply to google due to this reason alone, their reasoning was simply "I want to keep my own personality thank you".

I have little doubt that there are some very shrewd businessmen that have made an art of creating fuckup sandboxes within their organisations where women can be employed to oversee things that seem important but will not drag the company down when they screw it all up.

I suspect these days it's simply viewed as another layer of taxation, or a form of directly administered unemployment benefits.

A few observations:

1) I have never met a bro-grammer in my life - total myth, abetted in part by the HBO series Silicon Valley.

2) H.L. Menken could have easily been talking about the women of tech in his book In Defense of Women, which ironically was intended to be an actual defense of them but today reads more like an indictment.

3) Anyone else notice in the list of demands has nothing whatsoever to do with protesting Google's role as a censor, big brother or globalist multinational? Yeah, neither did I. Of course none of that has to do with impeding the female imperative, so not surprising.

4) I also noticed after walking out, they all walked back in. Paychecks beat altruism every time.

5) The Japanese company (SofBank) that bought the robot company from Google (Boston Dynamics) did so after Google owned it about a year, during which it was headed by the alleged sex-harassment guy at the center of the Google walkout. Wonder if he ever did a white paper on sex robots while there?

6) Google and Facebook in particular are extremely thorough in their vetting process because, well, they can be - they've got your info and there's no clear law against them using it to pre-screen. Of course they'd never admit this, but if for example you show one remotely pro-Trump sentiment in your information (meaning anything to the right of Marx) and you're going nowhere. For those that slip through the cracks (I know a couple), they walk on SJW eggshells every minute of their golden-handcuffed existence. Fuck that.

7) Political sandboxing was what the art community used to be. Early industrialists figured they could throw money at art museums, schools, foundations and causes and that would keep the sniveling artsy types at bay, away from any real power or politics. That firewall didn't hold up over time, apparently.

8) If you thought the Chief Diversity Officer being a white woman was a joke, have a look at her subordinate handling that for their Tokyo Office and imagine her average work day. I couldn't find evidence of anyone working in Google's Tokyo office who is not Japanese - how difficult and utterly useless could a diversity job anywhere in Japan be?

Similarly, imagine the kind of discussions must Google be having with their Japanese team - a cultural brick wall if ever there was one:

"We need you to be more diverse."

"No."

"But, we really need you to hire some non-Japanese."

"No."

"A muslim or two, at least?"

"No."

"A Nigerian? Maybe in the kitchen?"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"Well, ok, you aren't white; we really can't tell you what to do - can you at least give this guy's daughter a job?"

"Okay. But she sits over there - by the gaijin guy we had to hire for editing website copy."

White liberals are the anointed morons who started this trend of championing the interests of minorities in the first place, somehow managed to convince those minorities that they're actually helping them, and of course made them wards of the state instead.

Blacks in America, for instance, were doing better economically year on year, since even BEFORE the official abolition of slavery. Free blacks who had escaped slavery or were manumitted by their owners and went North often became self-made men in the more tolerant New England states and, most notably, New York. They were in fact hobnobbing with other ethnic groups in New York in bordering non-back neighborhoods and had a black elite. They were consequently overrun by a huge wave of black rednecks from the south, who brought their improvident hick culture along with them.

The irony that's lost on white liberals who insist that ghetto culture is somehow part of black identity is that this culture was originally imported to the US primarily by the highlanders of Ireland (hwhite boys!) who were infamously backwards, loose in sexual morals, quick to fight, and full of the touchy pride common to rednecks and ghetto thugs.

It wasn't until the British education system reached Ireland that they began transforming at an almost miraculous pace.

The white liberals in America who figured out they can buy votes by playing identity politics and giving away freebies paid for by tax dollars have done the most incalculable harm to the groups they supposedly represent. They are wholly responsible for the retrogression of minorities, for the welfare state, for the ghettos, for feminism and consequent antagonism between the sexes, decreased employment, and for the dissolution of the family.

She's the chief diversity officer because she comes from a long line of morons just like her who bring nothing of value to society, sink their parasitic proboscises into a healthy host, and with an almost magical command of beautiful-sounding but nonsensical language, somehow convince the host that they're not only NOT a parasite, but are in fact a beneficial organism without which the host would wither and die.

Hire a white woman to oversee diversity. Makes sense. And apparently she hasn't been able to effect any "increase in diversity" even after a year into the job, yet they want her to have more authority than she already does. That's Google for you.

While I shouldn't be surprised this is an existing position at Google, I was surprised that, according to her LinkedIn, that was her title at fucking Intel too, where she previously worked. That got me curious as to how many companies actually have a position like this - turns out, according to the website Black Enterprise, basically every major company you can think of has one.

If that list is accurate, it's an overwhelmingly female (read: useless) position.

So what would the KPI for such title be?
What a waste of huge money on such useless position. I envy people who can live in the top 1% doing useless jobs that doesn't even have a due date or real reflection on the company.

If automated driving cars are around the corner, it's more likely that government contractors will be developing the tech. It's the ABC federal agencies that want control of auto functioning and exact GPS location, so any wrong thinkers that cross the line can be taken out by a "systems error".

And every single time it backfires as their true ideological face quickly emerges from behind a fake, hypocritical mask.

Take the case of former Facebook executive, Oculus co-founder and virtual-reality wunderkind Palmer Luckey, who was a rising star of Silicon Valley when, at the height of the 2016 presidential contest, he donated a modest $10,000 to an anti-Hillary Clinton group. His donation sparked a backlash from his colleagues, which then led to him being put on leave, and six months later he was fired....

So surprised, right? But read this bit - I sincerely hope this guy is a forum member:

I agree with your overall thesis but with one proviso: The so called black "leadership" since the death of MLK has been complicit in the degradation of African American culture and family structure.

He (MLK) had a certain dignity that Jesse Jackson, and his ilk lacked. Ive often wondered if he had been allowed to live if things would have gone in a different direction after the civil rights battle was won. If he was alive and he saw what welfare state was doing I cant imagine he wouldn't picked up that fight too.

It's a rather lurid but accurate illustration of just how pathetic the situation is in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley area for straight men. A guy with a fucking yacht on the water and millions in the bank is reduced to chasing down some tatted, used up heroin-pushing whore who winds up killing him with an overdose. There's so many lessons in that example.

What happened to the whore? Oh yeah, she got released. Probably back on SA by now.

A California judge in 2015 sentenced Tichelman to five years in prison after she pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and administering drugs. With credit for time served and for good behavior, she was released after serving about half her sentence.
