RE: HEADS UP: Anonymous is now looking to hack the forum

Your search - (my email) - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:
•Make sure that all words are spelled correctly.
•Try different keywords.
•Try more general keywords.

This is the message I got on google. Does this mean my email is clean?

Nevermind, I used a burner email. Let them eat cake

Thanks to Ricardo735 for the heads up. The site he recommends works well.

There are various ways to use a "fake" e-mail.

If you use Firefox, get an add-on called Bloody Vikings. On any input field, you can right click, select "Bloody Vikings" and get a list of 11 different e-mail providers that will give you a completely random e-mail address.

It will look something like this: [email protected]

Simultaneously, a window or tab will open to the e-mail provider website and your new inbox. The address will only be active for around 10-30 minutes as it's designed to just allow the confirmation e-mail to come through. Once you receive the confirmation e-mail, click the link in it to activate your account. This is the standard procedure on most websites and forums.

I recommend using this on all websites that you don't want to receive news from or tie your real name to. Unsurprisingly, this method provides you with a great spam-filter as well.

If there's any interest, I'll happily write a datasheet on online anonymity with various levels of reasonableness.

NOTE: Not all providers listed work equally well all the time. If you don't get your activation e-mail within a couple of minutes, try another provider. Mailforspam.com works well for me at the moment.

I changed my email to burner email and deleted my private messages. The email i used before is just a gmail that doesn't have any of my information.

While i recommend everyone do the same, i don't think anything serious will come out of this. Could be a ploy for this group to get more followers of the feminist persuasion.

Unfortunately for them, they lost a large group of men that may have been sympathetic to their previous shenanigans. Stupid mistake.

FIY you can use mail.com for quick and easy burner emails. Don't have to put any real information.

I've noticed that if you're not logged in, the Forum is now invisible to outsiders except for the "Return of Kings" section.

I assume this is the reason why?

E-mail changed, PMs deleted.

Thanks for the heads up on BV Running Turtles. Have a rep point.

Gmail and basically every other email provider has phone verification or at the very least they ask you to give them an existing email address. What's the point of creating a "burner" that is so clearly linked to your identity?

On the other hand, rvf blocks the true burner email providers.

DON'T link it to an existing email addres or put a phone number in, it's not mandatory.

I had a burner email before, I just made another one just to be safe.
This. They ask for it but it's not mandatory. Gmail works great.

When you delete PMs they go to 'trash' so also delete them from that folder.

This is worth quoting for emphasis. Every "deleted" PM is sitting right there.

Recommend deleting all PM's, inbox/sent, then trash folder.

Make sure anyone you sent a PM also deletes or it will still be in their inbox.
