Emotional intelligence isn't the ability to be stoic - it's related to understanding emotions and interpreting them in real time. Think empathy. In this definition, women are far more emotionally intelligent then men in most cases. Women are also far more socially intelligent than men in many cases, due to the fact that logic fails in the real world with beings that are by nature, emotional. Men have to learn about this if they want success in business, dating, and socially; I would argue it doesn't come naturally for 80-90% of men. What do most women like to talk about? People. What do most men like to talk about? Ideas and concepts. The dark side of this is that women can be manipulative by their deep understanding of emotion. I know far more 'social climbers' that are women than men. Although with the overarching feminization of men, this line is getting blurred.
