Differing opinion here but I actually really enjoyed the series. I wasn't even born when the series debuted but I caught on to it while it was on syndication on one of the cable channels. I'm a sitcom person for the laughs and its harmless fun as long as you know how to filter out the SJW and the beta stuff. Whoever takes TV seriously is probably beta blue pill anyways.
About foreign girls loving the show, its true. My knowledge of the show watching it growing up has always been a good tool in hand whenever I gamed these girls. Its gold when you're gaming westernized Asians.

My biggest pet peeves with sitcoms are laugh tracks. I find them annoying, trite, and an insult to my intelligence.
I had the dishonor once of sitting in on a filming of a sitcom with a live studio audience. I never understood why everyone woud laugh at the bad jokes.
I don't need an audience to tell me when to laugh. Hilariously i also laughed by myself during that same taping. Sheep.

Many Russians like Friends too. It's actually a big way that some of them learned English. Some even believe that's how Americans in NYC really live...dicking around in a nice apartment, not working much. Rainbows and unicorns.

I always hated friends too but I can understand why it appeals to certain foreign audiences.
It's light and the comedy is feel good low level comedy. It appeals to people with basic english and basic knowledge of U.S. culture. It hit it big in the U.S. because it appeals to the broadest spectrum of american women sensibilities.
It's not too different from some poorly acted tv serials in asia in structure too. Poorly acted comedy/romance tv serials are also wholely consumed by women.
Basically:
You have a house and some chode walks in and makes some "funny" comment, the girl reacts with another one liner, some situational scenario is set up (wedding, birthday, reunion, date, etc..), comedy happens in the situation, they make out, then the episode comes to a conclusion.
I actually do respect David Schwimmer a bit though. He was pretty good in Band of Brothers in the role of a total asshole which was a pretty good piece of acting or might actually be how he is in real life.

These two shows were watched by millions (Friends averages 20-25 million per episode and HIMYM averaged around 10 million per an episode) and had a lot of influence on not just men and their behavior but women as well. And not just adults but impressionable teenagers.
I once watched How I Met Your Mother with a plate once and the behavior of the men and women in the show is beyond repulsive. The women are cunts and the men are bitches but this plate ate it all up like that shit was normal. And the one semi-player guy is a out and proud faggot in real life (so no one takes him seriously).
Not to discount other significant factors like militant feminism, political correctness, etc, etc but I think these two shows (along with lesser popular shows that made men look like bitches) had significant influence in creating beta bitch men and cunty snarky women
