"I Have Coronavirus Symptoms" thread

RE: "I Have Coronavirus/Cold/Flu Symptoms" thread

I was incredibly sick in mid January, a sudden onset after being out with friends at a party, a fever, sore throat, and a chest cold, killed the fever by fasting for 30 hours with water and vitamins and herbal powder drinks only. Slept like a baby, took flu bombs twice a day for four days, and the viral load in my chest went down about a week and a half later when I coughed up the last of the dark sputum. If that was CV then I concur with Michael that it was already here months ago, just more lies from the media. Though it didn't infect the people I was around as everyone who was near me when I was displaying symptoms hadn't come down with it, so I don't think it was this alleged superflu. I also took a couple droplets of pure oil of oregano by mouth, and holy cow did that burn but it definitely stopped whatever was in its tracks. I also took a 15g (15000mg) vitamin C superdose on the day after I came down with it. I think the combination of a single vitamin C megadose with water fasting and any kind of anti-viral tinctures (echinacea works really well) will really help you get over it. I know this should go in the other thread, but still food for thought.

Well, the death rate is calculated based on the known infection rate. So yes I’d assume it’s much lower than they know, since if it was spreading around before they even started testing than many times more people have / had it than they’re using to calculate death percentage. Even if it wasn’t spreading beforehand, there’s no way the death rate is as high as they’re saying because to know that rate would necessitate knowing the exact infection rate and I don’t think many cities are even set up to test for it yet.

Plus the mainstream media is just 24/7 fear porn anyway, so I have no reason to believe they’re being more honest about this than they are about any other topic. There are still people pretending to be serious, on major networks, saying that Vladimir Putin is secretly pulling all the strings of American politics. Do those networks have a track record of honesty that makes you think they would tell the truth about basically any situation at all?

Of course not. They’re paid based on viewers and fear gets eyes on the screens and clicks on the sites. I’m not saying you shouldn’t prepare for the worst, because you should (always, not just with this virus), but letting yourself get stressed over it just lowers your immune system response and, ironically, makes you more susceptible than being level headed and smart about it.

One of my friends at Church is convinced that we all had it about a month ago. After the parish 25th anniversary event, at which at least a hundred extra people were packed in the pews, three of us had flu/fever and I had the worst cold of my life. Couldn’t even sleep for a full night because I couldn’t breathe through my nose at all. This was way before the CDC mentioned it being here so if we did have it, it’s been spreading a lot longer than they’re telling us.

I have the exact same thing to report with only slight circumstantial differences. This was in December. I have been having fluctuating flu/cold symptoms ever since and several other people have too. I was pretty bad in late January but then got better and now just have a few cold symptoms, like runny nose. The other people are experiencing something similar since then as well.

I am almost certain this is going around for much longer. They found the first European death was in Spain, and it happened before anyone knew the virus was there, and the cause of death was at the time ruled to be 'pneumonia of unknown source'. Probably many other cases like this, from the lethal to the very mild.

RE: "I Have Coronavirus/Cold/Flu Symptoms" thread

I posted my own experience before in the main coronavirus thread but i'll reiterate my own possible experiences with this.

It may be helpful as a historical timeline at least.

My family and I were in Hong Kong from Nov 30-Dec 7. I base out most of the year in another Southeast asian country with a very warm tropical climate and i'm right by the ocean. After we returned I started having pretty nasty flu symptoms starting on Dec 18. That's around 11 days of incubation.

I can't remember the last time I had the flu in asia. I've had bacterial infections like strep and even minor staph infections before from cuts but not full blown flu.

My symptoms on Dec 18: progressive fever, cough, runny nose, fatigue.

It later developed into splitting headache and a prolonged fever which lasted at least 5 days for me. Day 5 is when it started to diminish

I was bedridden 2 out of 4 days when I felt awful. I was sleeping for a solid 2 out of the 4 days. I felt better Dec 24 but still had a nasty cough but not much of a fever anymore and fatigue was still present.

It took me 2 weeks after Dec 24 to feel normal again. I felt pretty tired throughout that time period even though most symptoms were gone.

During the first week of my illness I drank mostly fresh blended smoothies consisting of fresh oranges, mangoes, bananas, passion fruit, and zinc + multivitamin tablets. I kept the fever down with flu medication. My appetite at the time was nil. I didn't want to eat anything.

I'm still not entirely sure this was covid19 and it could have very well been something equally as nasty like viral meningitis too. However, like I said before in the other thread the timeline fits. Btw, my toddler (2.5 years old) was the one who first got sick when we got back and recovered fast and then the time period overlapped where I got sick.

I'm on day 8 of my cold illness and my body just can't get rid of it. I'm coughing badly at night. I'm self-quarantining as much as I can (I did go to the store to buy a thermometer). I don't have a fever. But this doesn't feel like other colds I've had.

dry or productive/wet cough? I have no symptoms beyond feeling like I need to clear my throat every 20 minutes, but it is persistent, like the throat clearing doesn't resolve anything. I have no symptoms at night. Today is Day 4 on my end.

doing high doses of vitamin C as well.

RE: "I Have Coronavirus/Cold/Flu Symptoms" thread

My buddy had such a long-lasting strange cough. Took him over 6 weeks to get rid of december to january. I got it from him after weakening my system due to food poisoning. It took me over 3 weeks to get rid off. Vitamin C is limited with coughs that seem to have some connection to the lungs. It didn't get worse, but it took a while. My buddy had also a rough cough especially at night.

Seems that something like that is going around.

Roosh, is it just at night?

Are you sleeping with a window open?

How long have you been at your new location?

Any change in diet?

I'm not saying it's one thing or the other but it may be related to other things like allergies and food sensitivities.

Well you are in the target zone then for Influzenza A or Corona. Also, in the mountains the bounty of flowering plants makes for some intense allergies but that is also accompanied by very itchy eyes, an nose and a non stop running nose.

Day 3 of this cold*

Currently: runny nose and some slight head congestion. Scratchy cough is gone.No issues breathing.
Still doing vitamin c megadose with B vitamin and zinc
Very little human contact now that I'm choosing to not work in the office for the next couple of weeks and instead am working in/on the trucks at my terminal.

Don't know if it's CV but I'm not taking chances

For those of you who are displaying symptoms but need to get food, consider pickup services at places like Target or Walmart to not infect others. You order online and then pull up in your car. They drop off your groceries in the trunk. I will try it for Walmart. Otherwise, when you go to the store, wear gloves to not shed virus on packages (or sanitize hands before entry) and also try not to talk to staff so that you can limit emission from your mouth.

I'm learning that my food stock is not at all sufficient in terms of variety. I can survive technically on rice and lentils, but it would be difficult to eat that every day other than in a war-time scenario.

My cough starts at around 11pm at night, and lasts for a couple of hours. During the day it's mostly absent.

We do the walmart pickup, its great, they often are out of stock on items and will substitute a size larger to replace it, at no extra charge.

Corona pro tip - bring a tablet pen or gloves with you to the pick up as they give you an ipad/credit card reader to sign on that everyone else has handled.

Anyone tried Amazon food delivery straight to the Amazon Locker?

Minimum contact - not even delivery driver and you can pick it up late at night. I use those kind of delivery systems whenever I can becaouse a courier forces me to be somwhere at a specific time:

They even offer high quality frozen steaks and other goods.

If it's laying down you might be dealing with reflux. I tend to get indigestion at night as well.

If it's laying down you might be dealing with reflux. I tend to get indigestion at night as well.

I've found that most of my coughing is due to acid reflux. I've gotten used to taking a Pepcid AC as soon as I start coughing. I can recognize when other people cough due to this as well, now that I've become aware of it.

When I get a bad cold, apparently the acid stomach is riled up, or something, and it is far, far worse. About every 5-10 minutes, the acid boils up my esophagus. It irritates my throat, making me cough. It also goes down my wind pipe a little, making me have to cough up crud as my lungs try to flush it out. Finally, the irritation makes my sinuses dump suddenly, which causes post nasal drip and aggravates the cough even more. About the time I get the crud coughed up from my lungs, and get my sinuses blown out and settled down, and get my throat to stop tickling, the acids bubbles up the next time, and the cycle repeats.

I take Nexium or Previcid when this happens. It takes a few days for Nexium or Previcid to take effect, so you have to get some and start right away when you realize this pattern is happening. You can take Nexium and Pepcid AC together., as they have different methods of operation and do not have drug interactions. Important Note: On the Nexium package, they tell you to take one pill every 24 hours. However, if you look up the dosage information online, you can take up to two every 24 hours. This is what I do when this problem is happening. You are only supposed to have a max of two Pepcid AC per day.

Sleeping on an incline can help. Also, try to eat a modest dinner at least 3 hours before bedtime, so your stomach is more settled when you go to bed.

Finally, when I'm having bad coughs that keep me awake all night, I sleep with a cough drop in my mouth. I leave it up against the cheek, and don't roll it around in my mouth. It can last a long time like this, and will stay there while you go to sleep, soothing my throat just enough to prevent coughing.

@Roosh - what helped me get over the cold faster was mixing 15 drops of clove oil into water and drinking that mixture once per day. It’s the worst flavor I’ve ever tasted, so I recommend using no more than a shot glass worth of water in the cup to make it drinkable in one gulp. Did that for about a week and the cold subsided, got the oil at Sprouts for 7 or 8 bucks.

3 weeks ago, I was very sick for a few days. I was shaky and fluctuating between hot and cold. I did not take my temperature the first day, but the second day I did not have a fever. On the third day I went back to work. I've had a very bad dry cough for the past 3 weeks.
