^ Yes, it's a UK only brand. Just giving a heads up that demand is obviously increasing rapidly so other brands/ suppliers will possibly follow suit. I think someone mentioned that it's mostly made in China so there may also be supply chain issues.

I'm battling with the idea of me having had this virus already.

My girlfriend is a flight attendant, during mid December after returning from a trip (her colleague on the flight just came back from Shanghai and was experiencing a terrible flu but still worked) she became sick and said it was the worst Flu she ever had. She spent the best part of a week in bed while I would drop off supplies to her and minimize the amount of time we spent together until she recovered.

Around 2 weeks later I started to have breathing issues which ended up with me taking a trip to A&E. They did a Chest x-ray, ECG and blood tests but told me that they could not tell me what was causing this.

It felt as though my lungs were working at 30% there normal level, I just could not get a satisfying breath in. I also had a high fever and I could feel my heart beating through my chest, I did not have a cough though.

I was off work for 9 days and spent the best part of it drinking water and eating as many fruits / vegetables as I could.

Only within the last few days do my lungs feel like they are coming back to 100% normal, this is in line with mega dosing Vitamin C (thanks Simeon) and with taking NAC (read reports of it helping with Lung health and faintly recalled a post on Danger & Play about it in the past)

I'm on day 9 of my illness and think I may have turned the corner. Feeling more energetic. Days 7 and 8 were bad: lots of coughing and mild shortness of breath. I kind of feel like I have the flu but without a fever.

What are you supplementing? Do you think it might actually be Corona?

Take note - Holland & Barratt begin rationing Vitamin C:

If you find it running out check veterinary supply stores. They sell l-ascorbic acid in bulk for very cheap since they use it for cows and chicken. (at pretty high doses even way beyond human recommendations)
The quality is good enough if you run out of it. Those stores may not be on Amazon, but they supply farmers and vets, so they should be operational.

That's normal if you take higher doses of vitamin C. Fever, joint pain, throat pain goes down hard - some dry cough may remain if it has the lungs as a source, sniffles may also remain even if it works on some. But the symptoms get lowered strongly where it matters - no deterioration and move towards the really dangerous high fever or pneumonia, because that is where the real damage and dying happens.

I don't know what it is, but I'm already self-isolated so at least there is no danger to others.

I'm taking 12,000mg Vitamin C a day, spread out in three doses, and 6,000 IU of Vitamin D.

I am taking 2x300mg or 3x300mg a day usually. I took 1000mg when i was feeling a sore throat. No fever nothing though.

Actually I seriously believe that taking Vitamin C a few times a day help me to fight panic and the scare of being sick.
I dont think it can hurt me to take some even when not really think (no fever etc).

I also give some to my kids every day (not much) .So far we all 5 feel perfectly fine. I think we are not going to meet anyone from the outside for 1 month (at least when they allow me to work from home) , so i d be surprised if we get violently sick.

A few years back I would hope all of you are fine too , but now I will pray for you and your families to be fine.

Roosh I felt pretty much the same thing. Much milder though, as I’m nearly half your age, and am already starting to feel better after only about 4-5 days.

We need to shut everything down. America is way too focused on money. For example, most of the colleges are not shutting down until next week, at which point it will be too late.

Another recommendation: if you don’t have severe symptoms and are young enough, try not to go to the hospital. Our hospitals are NOT prepared for overcrowding and mass quarantines. This is something they won’t tell you, but most hospitals only have a few beds for quarantines. Our hospitals are much less prepared for this thing than China and Europe, both of which have better structured hospitals than us. The testing is also trash. This is going to start to be a huge issue very soon it looks like.

Day 5: Last night, the urge to clear my throat became less and ceased to be dry and moved to productive. Zero symptoms at night, slept ok, very slight nasal congestion this morning. I'm going to dial down the vitamin C a bit today and see if anything changes.

As mentioned previously, I started vitamin C, elderberry syrup and rest immediately after exposure (Coofer in room and my only in person event all week).

Day 6: cut vitamin C in half yesterday, zero symptoms, good night sleep. Whatever it was, I am over it.

Prayer, rest and Vitamin C for the win. Glory to God.

Brought to you by US scientists who were the leading pioneers of this.

I talked with my mom today and she mentioned as a little anecdote that slipped her mind that she had received vitamin C infusions after the birth of her second child - my sister. The hospital then gave all weakened mothers vit c infusions. The head nurse decided upon it without the consultation of the doctors, because the side effects were pretty much nil/benign. It's possible that they used that also on pneumonia and others.

Seems like the knowledge had spread from the 1950s onward and then was squashed beginning in the 80s. It's possible that far more hospitals used it back in the 70s and early 80s.

Mothers.... you tell them about something for hours, but then they forget to tell you about something as relevant as that.

I am highly skeptical of this mega dose vitamin C stuff, for example here is the finding of a meta analysis of taking mega doses for the common cold, published in PLoS One (a highly reputable open-source journal):

Reviewers' conclusions
The failure of vitamin C supplementation to reduce the incidence of colds in the normal
population indicates that routine mega-dose prophylaxis is not rationally justified for
community use.
But evidence shows that it could be justified in persons exposed to brief
periods of severe physical exercise and/or cold environments
. Also, the consistent and
statistically significant small benefits on duration and severity for those using regular
vitamin C prophylaxis indicates that vitamin C plays some role in respiratory defence
mechanisms. The trials in which vitamin C was introduced at the onset of colds as therapy
did not show any benefit in doses up to 4 grams daily, but one large trial reported
equivocal benefit from an 8 gram therapeutic dose at onset of symptoms
.

That sounds like a mixed review to me. The review says it does not prevent infection, but can reduce severity...which is what we're saying here I think. It won't prevent the sickness but can reduce severity and duration.

Which is extremely important when medical resources are limited. A reduction in symptoms could be the difference between being in hell but not needing a ventilator vs. needing a ventilator and none being available.

Just was doing a stock up and on the way home felt : lightheaded, sore throat, mild headache. I don't have a cough.

I started wondering if I might have something, but when I came home I found out that my mother had a serious headache, earache. She isn't coughing or complaining about a sore throat.

We are quarantining.
