I sat next to a female drill instructor today, and what she said bothered me.

I've never served, so I can't put down any woman that has put her ass on the line to join the armed forces.
But I still can't wrap my head around the notion of a female drill instructor.
This is what my idea of what a drill instructor is:
How can a small female be anything like this guy?

Just because someone joined the armed forces does not necessarily mean their ass - male or female - was in any danger whatsoever of being anywhere near the line.
When I went to basic that Full Metal Jacket clip was almost exactly accurate - minus the racial slurs and the hitting of recruits. They never had to do those things to us. Initial Entry Training like that is the only way to forge combat soldiers and it simply cannot be done in the same manner to females, the introduction of which immediately turns the entire exercise into a day camp.
Nowadays, the goal of the instructors is one of getting through with their careers intact, which the aforementioned female drill instructor obviously hasn't had to worry much about since after all, she's female and nobody's watching for her to screw up.

Regardless of any embellisments of the story - she may have only singed off a part of the goatee - women have no business being in any instructional or combat roles in the military.
Just as Dalrock mentioned - they try to instill some strange facsimile of male bravado and behavior. But it's more akin to a Bonobo trying to be a Gorilla. Women also have a few mental characteristics which make them highly unsuitable to lead men - even if they are respected by them - they are more emotional, more jaded, more easily swayed, more sadistic if they turn Dark Triad, less mentally stable and detached from the process. Men for example have the ability to scream at someone, have a fight with a guy and after 30 minutes go out for a beer together as if nothing happened. Women lack that hard-wired framework. It's more likely that they will take it personally and keep grudges forever.
In combat all of the crap becomes even worse, but we all know this. The feminist propagande is world-wide. Even Israeli troops know that women in the military are terrible in combat situations as those units have 400% more casualties. War and policing are men's businesses and women should stay out of it except for some supportive tasks. It only makes sense for them to fight like in Viking times, when the survival of the entire tribe was at stake - but then even children and old men fought. In our times it makes no sense at all - they likely introduced it only for further destruction of the social framework and more depopulation.

I agree with QC and AnonymousBosch - it's a whole cloth fabrication.
In regards to the OP who said he would knock her out if she did this to him - I agree and would probably do the same thing if it were just she and I or even a group of friends. But if you punch a woman in front of a bunch of marines or army grunts - you will get dogpiled and severely beaten, probably close to death. In that situation, punching a woman would be suicidal, even if she deserved it (which she did).

As a former military guy with years of experience I have been disturbed by a lot of recent events. I think it's safe to say there will be a time when females are in every position in the U.S. military. Standards will be lowered (already happened) and Americans will continue to buy into the bullshit that they are untouchable especially with American military technology. The Marine Corps is the last bastion for traditional military ethos, however they are receiving more and more pressure to be politically correct. The Special Operations community has more immunity from the BS (which is why high caliber guys want to serve there) but it is the conventional military that has to take and hold ground in shitholes worldwide. Given the current touchy, feely, sensitive American attitude it is going to take a major ass kicking for this country to wake up (who knows if that is even possible).

Here's a guy who even daubs in some sort of fuel to his mustache so it will burn faster. He lights it. And it's remarkably okay until inhales through his nose. At which point he's now breathing fire into some pretty sensitive internal tissue. And for all that trouble, not much was removed.

Whatever - that cunt, if she really does serve as a drill sergeant, has a duty to her troops and if there's any evidence she's abusing them she deserves to fry over it. Cutting her slack her isn't honorable or alpha, its enabling and beta.
FWIW, there are coed groups if basic trainees in the Army, though last I looked this did not include combat arms MOSs. Her story could very easily be true and no male drill sergeant would get cut any breaks given the same situation.
