"I have disappointed you and I’m really sorry" “I thought that I had some credibility with you, you know? I care so much about the same issues you care about. I’ve spent my life taking care of these issues of injustice, of poverty, of racism. I have the same beliefs that you do … I’m genuinely sorry, and to have disappointed you. I’ve disappointed myself.” We are seeing more and more of these orgies of Year Zero public shaming and subsequent apologies by the frightened old guard, retreating before the mob rule of the new guard. These "students" who are out for blood and have been given permission to act with complete impunity, should henceforth be called: representatives of the Khmer Rouge That is what they are. We should stop calling them "students". Example: Jerelyn, a representative of the Khmer Rouge, voiced her displeasure.
