RE: Infantilized Yale students meltdown The Atlantic bends over backwards to give petulant students like this the benefit of the doubt. Essentially, their heart is in the right place, and so they shouldn't be condemned for their "missteps". From The New Intolerance of Student Activism: Right... Quite a change from the usual Liberal tactic of naming and shaming, and quite ironic given how supportive they are about naming men who've been accused of rape without any shred of evidence, where the accusation alone is enough to get you socially ostracized. *Now* suddenly the rules have changed and we should all protect the name of a student who went on the swearing, screaming, rage filled tirade against the school administrator who had the audacity to disagree her. Now, it's all just a youthful indiscretion by a well meaning student who had the misfortune of having her behavior recorded for the world to see. I guess they don't like it when the shoe is on the other foot. Because, my guess is that after seeing Jerelyn Luther's behavior, no employer is going to want to risk hiring her. Ask yourself: If you were a manager, would you want to deal with an employee who acted like that? How do you think she's going to handle negative feedback in a performance review? Especially after learning that if she throws a big enough temper tantrum the people she's upset with will fold and issue sniveling apologies. I'm willing to bet this is exactly the type of person who uses HR policies as a weapon for retaliation for every little grievance and slight they feel they've been subjected to.
