I love Asian and Indian cuisines, especially the more exotic ones like Nepalese which are like a middle ground between Indian and Oriental dishes. I always go for the weirder things on conventional Indian menus too.

Alternatively give me a nice juicy rump steak with herbed sweet potato wedges, tender stem broccoli seasoned with a fuckload of pepper and I'm happy.

Nepalese food is great. It truly is the best parts of oriental and indian food.

Color me ignorant but I honestly didn't know other places specifically served boiled lobster, clams, and corn on the cob as a common dish.

Atlantic lobster is regional but nothing about that plate of food is original.

It's super common throughout southeast asia (even in street stalls) and probably in the med. parts of europe too.

I guess you could call the corn part of the plate "new england" but that's like calling potatoes Irish or rice Chinese.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall of culinary history when the first guy came up with the idea of the crab/lobster boil aka "just throw some shit in a pot". I bet it went like this:

"Dammit wife, why are you using so many dishes and taking so long to cook dinner! We were supposed to eat two hours ago. Get out of the way, let a man show you how!!!!"

he then proceeds to throw everything into the nearest cauldron of boiling water in a rage, without peeling or shucking anything first, probably the same large pot that the wife was boiling the laundry in. Once she screams out that its the laundry pot he dumps out the whole thing on the floor in a drunken rage, with the kids and wife crying and yells "There , THERE is your Damn dinner! Was that so hard! Pick it up off the floor...none of you are good enough for plates" They eat it, and find it surpisingly edible.

The brine from the family's dirty underwear in the laundry pot was later replaced with boil seasoning.

The best food comes the Deep South of the USA; better known as Soul Food.

Everyone in America knows Black Folks make some delicious food (minus the chitlins of course).

Argentina's steaks: bifes de chorizo especially, and its Malbec wines, and even its "dulce de leche" are quite wonderful. And cheap.

Anyway, not everything is open to interpretation and relative in the world. For example, regarding the best food of the world, the most refined and diverse, almost all (honest) professionals agree that it is the French who win gold, just before the Italian (and many people put the Vietnamese third). It's because I am told that the professionals value (above all) the sauces, and sheer variety and quality of products.

It's not so much the individual ingredients - I mean most all international cuisine uses somewhat common foods that are grown and eaten all over the world. It's just the combination of foods and how it's prepared/served that makes it a sort of New England staple.

Like I said I may just not know what I'm talking about but as far as I've always known, Maine Lobster, steamers, and corn on the cob is a signature New England thing. Couple that with a hearty bowl of ultra thick New England clam chowder and your stomach is gonna be wicked fuckin' happy guy!

Ok, so there are definitely a lot of things on here that look good, especially the cold meats, fresh cheese and grilled veggies.

But as I've done it before on various food threads here, get it through your thick skulls, Chicago deep dish is the best!

P.s. Fuck those mushy peas!

Can't get on board with the deep dish. It's the crust that ruins it. Flaky dry pie type crust then with just a mile of sauce.

A nice chewy dough is what makes a pizza for me.

I probably eat five of these a week:

I catch them right in front of my house. There's supposed to be a season for them, but sometimes they just walk out of the water.

Poke seems to be getting popular in the mainland. I've been eating it my whole life. This place has the worlds best:

There's Poke Bowl places all over USA. I've been to a few, but this is it:

Yes, I eat urchin a lot.

Today I caught 3 papios right out front:

Last Friday I speared a massive ulua about a mile and half down the beach:

Neither of those are mine. I got the pictures off the internet. The ulua was probably 50 pounds. They taste better grilled when they're a little smaller.

When I go out trolling its strictly ahi mahi mahi and marlin. I've been having somewhat bad luck lately for like three months. I'm only landing really small stuff. I fought something for about 2 hours last week that had to weigh 600 pounds but lost it.

Aloha!

If you don't like Kebab then you might as well be a cuck.

The only thing that can compare is a nice, smoked, marinated steak cooked straight on a coal pit. Fuck Hank Hill and his propane. The only proper way to BBQ is with coal.

Number 3 I give to the Indians. A well cooked Chicken Tikka is the stuff of legends.

Though if we're going by overall food by culture Italian>French>Southern BBQ>Mexican

That's all folks
