@911 - French food (more specifically French Canadian) is also my shit and you tend to find a lot of that in New England as well. So delicious and fattening.

I think cuisines should also be ranked on how high/low test they are:banana:

Highest: Eastern European, UK, American, Oz, German, Mexican, Indian

Lowest: French, Japanese, Italian

If you can't stomach a nice, spicy curry you shouldn't call yourself a man.

Under that logic, I'm pretty sure you won't mind Soup #5.

Also, I'll raise your spicy curry with Bicol Express.

This is why I rank Thai food high. It has a refined spiciness to it from fresh herbs and none of the gamey qualities of other spicy foods like indian. It won't make you smell like a dirty sweaty STI infected asshole over time either.

Real spicy Thai food will blow your socks off though. It's really something else. I can eat those little bird chilis all day now.

Somone mentioned Curry.

If you ever go through Germany there is something that you need to at least try. It's somewhat ubiqutous in Germany but those that have never had this need to.

Was going to offer Canadian food.

Too bad scotian with his personal story already blew the cover on why it is a complete joke.

Thai food is the best but funny to know that it is known for chilis is a Western export from the American colonies. Cambodian food is much the same just without the spices and very bland.

What I loved about "Canadian" Food growing up was that none of it was really Canadian....I mean yes there is some very canadian food (newfoundland) but not a lot. It was a european world tour of cuisine.

I foundit was mostly food recipies brought by european immigrants, and now middle east/asian immigrants.

Growing up I was able eat out at restaurants like legitimate english fish and chips shops or french fry trucks (the grandfather of the hipster food truck), or go to greek diners that had greek food, ukranian food, german or finnish food. As time went on those places closed and became thai or middle eastern....and these were in the suburbs.

When i got to america, my fellow amercian suburban dwellers had never heard of half of the things I'd eaten, let alone could find a restaurant that served them.

Also, Canadian-ized chinese food is a real thing like Scotian said. There are certain items...like buttered toast or giant sweet/sour chicken balls that aren't the same in americanized chinese food.

You forgot to add sausage rolls:

I think they're a lot superior to the American equivalent (pigs in a blanket):

American_pigs_in_blankets.jpg

Puff pastry > American biscuit dough
English Sausage meat > Frankfurters

English pork pies are great:

As are Scotch eggs (boiled egg, wrapped in sausage meat and then covered in breadcrumbs and deep fried):

Meet 'Kapsalon' (hairdressing salon), invented in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Named after the inventor, who was also a hairdresser I believe.

Ingredients: French Fries, Kebab, Cheese and Salad. 1800 Calories per serving.

So basically Dutch cuisine is cheese, and ethnic food from SE Asia... I love my aged gouda, one of the tastiest cheese out there, but come on, Holland has the worst culinary heritage in western Europe, even German cuisine is better!

Utilitarian, protestant culture = no frills functional food, cheese and herring... Belgium (even the Flemish part) has decent food, and of course, the best beer in the world, but Holland?!?

Gonna have to agree. The Dutch suck when it comes to food other than cheese(also coffee I hear but I need to confirm this in person), but we all know the French do that better. It's kind of a shame as some of my favorite music artists are Dutch.

I love the country, culture, and music just not the food.

It's a shame.
