^ It was actually a jealous local guy who became obsessed with the girl I'm seeing and made all kinds of problems for us.

And yes the "get robbed or killed by a prostitute" phenomenon is common in Thailand. You should check out a few blogs. Very clichéd but it happens all the time in Pattaya.

Guilty pleasure, I know, but I sometimes watch these Jeremy Kyle, Jerry Springer type show, and every now and then these stories crop up, I was a fat slob now I a skinny dominatrix, wait till you see his face.

Only without exception the guy never really cares and it falls flat. Either he doesn't remember her, is happy for her that she isn't a whale anymore, or laughs when the LARPing dominatrix starts giving him orders.

It's like that dude who went on vacation for two weeks without his phone and his girl forgot he was away and carried on the relationship, including fights, making up, breakups, getting back together, all with no input from him, just leaving messages on his answering machine.

Something else entirely is going on in their heads, and it is pretty goofy.

I've seen that video before; it's a sad statement about where our culture is.

He was utterly correct in breaking up with her - even ignoring the infidelity - but it speaks to the generalized emotional immaturity of people these days, not just women. They presumably had a semi-serious relationship, but she wasn't looking at the long-term. She was only looking at the instantaneous gratification As soon as something bad happened she overreacted, and blew the whole thing up. She didn't spend any time mourning - she immediately went out and found a revenge cock.

A lot of men fall into this pattern as well (myself, for instance, far more often than I care to admit). We seek out the instant gratification, fall into 'relationships' without any thought as to where they're headed, and then instead of mourning we immediately go and rebound to something else.

Longer-term thinking, humbleness, and an acceptance of mortality are essential for long-term purpose, stability, and happiness. This girl's misbehaviour is a product of our consumerist, materialist, instant-gratification culture, more than a result of female entitlement.

All you say is true. I basically agree - see my comment on the first page. She was naive and stupid and I'm no bleeding heart liberal.

But ... the moment we lose compassion - even for someone naive and stupid who gets raped, cut up and murdered - is the moment we lose part of our humanity. Better not go there.

Compassion often needs to come out as a sort of anti-compassion.

If these reckless women start to have the sense that men will be reluctant to help them and risk themselves for them in these situations, I think the reckless behavior will go down.

Too many folks out there equate compassion with a tacit endorsement of a person's choice to get into this kind of stupidity.

This must be becoming really popular amongst western white women. I was having lunch the other day and overheard two young women sitting next to me. One was planning a trip to India and talking about the logistics.

Her friend said "why do you want to go to India"

Girl's response: For the adventure.

The whole time I'm thinking 'Of all the countries in the world, why would anyone visit a shithole like India?'

I didn't really think anything of the conversation until I saw this thread today.

Most likely reason is the caught up in the superficial glance of Eastern Mysticism and Indian culture. Those girls are going to get the same shock that Joseph Campbell did when he went to India in 1956: a fucking mess. Outside of tourist areas and major cities last time, India is country that majority of people are just surviving.

That conversation your overheard is prime example of many women and men, not understanding the world is dangerous place. The safety of the Western World has not spread through out the world, so you can travel and do stupid shit. You always have to be aware of your surrounds and be on guard for anything. A lesson that is loss on many people today.

This is the Ganges River at Varanasi. At this point, the river has already passed through Delhi. So several hundred million people, and perhaps a billion cows.

Varanasi is the sacred Hindu city, so relatively wealthy Indians come here to burn their dead grandparents on the river. Except for dead pregnant women, dead children under 10, dead lepers, and dead cobra victims. Their souls belong to Shiva, so they chain them to rocks and dump the whole bodies into the river.

The Ganges is a sacred river, so you get cleansed by bathing in it. Like the white woman in the picture. A couple minutes after I took this picture I found people cleaning sheets for all of the tourist guest houses, including mine.

I just listened to Roosh's podcast about what travel can and cannot do for a man... India is definitely an "experience" and not a vacation. It sucked, but I believe I am stronger for having gone.

I was in Varanasi as well at the Ganges. I thought to go into it and wash me free from all my sins. But it was just a brown, dirty river. My immune system is not made for such a challenge. I just took a picture instead. India has its great sides as well. It was my first big travel and after no country could shock me any more.

That river used to be crystal clear like the waters of the Bahamas. And then I washed my balls in it and it's never been the same.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a Western basic bitch there in the middle-left dipping her toes while trying to build up the courage to submerge herself in those rancid, parasite infested waters?

No doubt wondering "does it count spiritually if I only go in to my ankles?"

Or was that "I can't believe I told everyone on Facebook I was going to do the cleansing ritual in the Ganges. What plausible excuse can I hamster up for pussying out?"

Nice to see guys getting a hard-on by images of crippling poverty. Must be hard to appreciate something you can't eat, bomb, or fuck.

Jokes aside, why don't these bums join the U.S. military, the largest social-welfare program that ever existed?

On aisians (rich enough to go abroad in first place) in India. There was an article in the NYT awhile back. Indian thugs had learned some Japanese to specifically target lone tourists there. It was incomprehensible to a Japanese person that someone who speaks their language would be out to rob or rape them.

Because they're not smart enough. Army IQ cutoff is, what, 50? These guys aren't even half way there.
