Is Boeing losing the ability to make airplanes?

It's not consumer driven, if you would ask anyone, would you rather fly in a good and safe plane or in a plane made by women and a woke diverse team? the answer is clear.

What you’re seeing is a result of the commodification of the MBA and that MBA mindset. A lot of them believe all that stupidity because Harvard Business Review tells them so.

A bit of it makes sense. For example, if you have a former engineer who is instead moving into a big picture, executive track you want them to rotate through different areas so they both have relationships with the people In each area and understand how they think. Eventually their job is going to be to make decisions such as what type of aircraft to invest in for development and they need to be able to reconcile different opinions between the engineers and financial analysts. To some extent even having a few diversity hires makes sense because you can parade them around in front of any customers who like that kind of thing.

For anyone else it makes zero sense. People whose career path is defined by building engineering expertise shouldn’t be rotational or diversity hires.

I'm very fond of the old tv show "Wings" that was on the Discovery Channel in the 1990s. Not to be confused with the sitcom "Wings", which also aired during that time. This was a documentary show that told the story of how specific airplanes were developed. I included a link below to the episode that covered the Boeing 747.

The development of the 747 was remarkable - that's what a company based on merit and competency can accomplish. It's a sad contrast to today's Boeing, which could never achieve such an impressive operation. In particular, I like Boeing's CEO at the time, who demonstrates real leadership traits. In one scene Boeing's CEO said he was dealing with another airline's CEO for advanced purchases...he was amused that since he used to play guard in football (American) he was ordering around another former football player (America) that used to be a quarterback.

Back then I used to hear talk like this from accomplished professionals all the time. I was still an aspiring Marine Officer and would talk with former Marines and industry leaders often. They'd share similar anecdotes. The impression was undeniable...this was the stuff that made men and leaders and captains of industry. But, it was more. This very same sentiment echoed across the culture...it was the same thing my Grandmother would say.

The left knew what they were doing when they removed that from our society and its one of the reasons I'll never forgive them.

Absent from any of these conversations were things like emotions or diversity and all the rest. Respect was earned, just like everything else. And it all made perfect sense, not because of some mystical entrenched bias of phalogos centrism, but, for the simple fact that it was practical and obvious. Watching things like this today is almost heartbreaking. This man would never be CEO today.

"3D" visualization of the China Eastern incident from FR24.

So it dropped about 20,000 feet in roughly a minute and then recovered and climbed a bit, then dropped the other ~8,000 feet in approximately 20 seconds.

As some had predicted, looks like this was a deliberate act:

I wouldn't even trust an Indian with a shovel.

What does this statement even mean?

Are you saying Indians are just inherently incompetent? That makes no sense considering they have a history of philosophy and a building a civilization that has contributed to humanity

Are you saying Indians cannot function in the "modern" world? Again that makes no sense, India is still a poor country but has managed to create a space program that by all accounts has some impressive achievements.

Are you saying Indian programmers are not competent? They are competent enough to create the united payments interface that is not being used as a model amongst the developing world

Are you saying Indian manufacturing is lacking? This would be true but has more to do that Indias governmental system hasn't quite figured out how to create the support structures for this

Your statement is piss-poor logic that a minority of white people use to try and justify their backwards ass world view. Of course when challenged they will cry "PC gOnE MaD" ironically having a victim mentality on par with what they proclaim to hate. Comical really

Yes, they are inherently incompetent and I know this from my work, like a few degrees below European standards.

Indeed, much of their suffering they needlessly bring upon themselves as a consequence of their loathsome idolatry. They starve because they will not kill rats & other vermin; after all the rat might be their great-grandfather. They refuse to use cattle as The Almighty intended, rather they render them a foolish & odious worship, it is all most revolting.

Yes, I suppose it is a mistake to treat all sentient beings with dignity and respect. So much for "enlightened" Christianity

Some of you lot truly are the funniest people ever with no logical congruence. Eating cattle is okay but Koreans eating dogs is not. Lol, what dumbass arbitrary rules. Cows and Pigs have as much empathy as dogs and cats

How so very revolting and detestable that Christian fanatics can't just live and let live and insists on sending missionaries around the world. Almost as barbaric as Islam. Maybe you lot need converting to a truly enlightened religion that is tolerant of everyone. Might I recommend a few books ?

1) Bhagvad Gita
2) Mahabharatha
3) Ramayana

In which case you are a fool.

If we are "inherently incompetent" then we would not have been able to outperform every other ethnic group in the USA in terms of average income per capita and first-generation Indians like Sunder Pichai (who is straight from a village in Tamil Nadu) would not have have risen to the top of Google (and there are many like him). Whatever your opinion of Google it still takes inherent competence to rise to such a position

You generally get what you pay for. If your company is anything like European airlines aka stingy and cheap then it is no surprise they have gone for the lower quality workers to save a few euros. You reap what you sow and quality Indian engineers now get at least 1.5 lakhs a month which translates to ~24k USD per year

Secondly, you need a crash course on statistics and why anecdotal evidence is never reliable. It might make your future arguments less laughable. Here is a version for dummies :

Lastly, I agree on an average things like Indian manufacturing and construction are of lower quality than Europe. This is because of the educational systems not being as developed yet and none of the technical know-how has gotten widespread yet not because of inherent incompetence or whatever rubbish your argument is

Indian tech solutions are ahead of the garbage I've seen in Europe. In Europe they still don't have contactless payment :laughter:.The only software engineers who were up to the mark in Europe were Ukrainians but I guess Putin has seen that off.

How many years of work experience has convinced you of this? This is not my experience at all with employees, after nearly 30 years as a technology manager.

As to offshore contractors, regardless of their country of origin, you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't even trust an Indian with a shovel. If this is true then Boeing executives should be directly responsible for these deaths.

Sadly, I would trust a typical Indian engineer to create a good computer program (or perform any kind of engineering work) before I would trust a typical modern American college graduate. It makes me sad to say that, but it's true.

And I say this as someone who works in engineering with both Indians and Americans. The Indians work harder, know more, are much faster at learning, and produce better quality work. Plus they seem genuinely, internally motivated to care about their work, while the Americans usually scrape by doing the bare minimum and doing all they can to avoid working. And I'm not even talking about the females.

It's a shame and a disgrace what happened to "education" in this country, not to mention work ethic.

As Mark Twain said, "I never let my schooling interfere with my education." In my life I've tried to do the same and self-educate, rather than following the mindless herds.

In the last 30 years i have seen the working culture decline at a very fast pace.

There had been a rapid change of values in large corporate organisations, it has become more important:
- to be "visible" in the organisation than to do good work
- to be a generalist (that's growth and higher paid) than be a specialist
- to work 3/4 days a week to take care of the kids partly than to work every day
- to hire diversity (more blacks, arabs, indians) than to have a strong team of the best engineers from a local engineering university that understands eachother
- to have fun than to be good
- hire women than to hire men (they say females heavy organisations are more succesful)
- to be socially accepted (be woke) than to make great products
- to have blacks and women in teams than to build safe plans
- to study what you like than to study what you are good at
- to change jobs every 2 years than to become really good at what you do
- to fly migrants to Europe than to fly Europeans safely around (proof below)
- excessive government power to push this agenda

It's not consumer driven, if you would ask anyone, would you rather fly in a good and safe plane or in a plane made by women and a woke diverse team? the answer is clear.

It goes so quick as the last generation of hard working, loyal Christian white engineers who ended up leading the company has stopped to work in the last 20 years. They are replaced by women, indians, blacks and arabs, a managerial class who have very other priorities than to build great planes.

It has become a humiliating experience for well willing, smart, hard working men to work in large corporate organisations as these. They leave in droves for that reason.

We don't have to look far. Boeing tells us what they do. Look at the annual report. (I wasn't exaggerating, this company looks like hell on earth)

Does this look like a team of smart engineers? Is there anyone who believes adding more blacks, arabs and women to your team will bring quality?

Can't stand all those fake, sappy smiles. People in positions like this should be serious and tough, like photos of old Presidents and military leaders. Certainly not with a cute, effeminate little smile, and absolutely no women.
