There are two extremes I've observed and sometimes been guilty of myself. One would be to resign yourself to staying where you are despite it making you miserable and having a bad influence on you, even as you're perfectly capable of finding a more wholesome place for you to live. This could be a form of fatalism, pride, heroism, or just sheer laziness. However, "staying put" can also be a perfectly wholesome, courageous and perhaps even patriotic thing to do. The other extreme would be to continuously seek an escape route to the point of abandoning your country or family, in a perpetual quest for some sort of utopia on earth, which can turn into a delusional obsession. This I'd basically consider to be cowardice at worst or misplaced idealism at best, though depending on your motives and situation, it may still be perfectly legitimate to seek a saner place for you to live and settle down. So for me, the real takeaway from this article is that we always have to question our motives and use proper discernment. There is no one-size-fits-all answer in the end. Some will decide to move, others stay - and both can be perfectly legitimate options depending on your motives. Take the action that's appropriate for you. It's between you and God in the end. One last thing. The covid-19 "pandemic" has forced many of us to accept our current situation and learn to make the best of it since there hardly is any long-term escaping this global madness anyhow. This may prove to be a blessing in disguise for some of us as we learn to have more trust in God and endure hardship.
