Attended Jay Dyer's talk last Saturday in Nashville. Really enjoyed it, seems he will be holding more talks/book signings in the future:

He did some comedy and then his wife Jamie Hanshaw spoke about A.I. and the occult. Really fascinating to see her trace a through-line from paganism in Sumeria to the transhumanism of today. There was a break and then his final talk he touched on things from each chapter of his new book on Metaphysics. Real big brain stuff that was very enjoyable. My wife was not super familiar with Jay's stuff going in and is now a fan. Cool to see Courtenay and other Ortho e-celebs were in attendance as well. Recommend attending one if you get the chance.

Cool. Is his wife the one that will occasionally accompany him on those streams?

They are not in good standing with one another anymore.
“Not in good standing” is an interesting concept. I find that Jay has been more helpful to my spiritual growth in recent months than he was during the years we worked together; in that sense, he is a better friend to me now than when we were on better “standing.” One of many paradoxes of the Orthodox life. Glory to God for all things!

Jay has been tremendously helpful. I think that for someone like him, who did so much research, has gone so far down the rabbit hole and accumulated so much knowledge there are less and less people who have the bar raised that high with whom he can engage intellectually. Maybe that is the reason why he seems arrogant and irritated sometimes.

It's good to remember that all that knowledge means nothing, and is actually harmful, if one is not charitable. Jay's stuff did help when I was first inquiring Orthodoxy, but the outbursts and "autist" behavior got to be annoying. There's value in learning more about our God, but heated debates and intellectualism is not that which will convert our country to Orthodoxy.

I like Jay, and he’s undoubtedly helped convert a lot of people and I can forgive him for getting heated in debates. We don’t know his spiritual life nor should we judge.

That being said, there is room to question some of his online behaviour without condemning him. I have seen him delete tweets and telegram posts he may have made in the heat of the moment, so he’s not without introspection and I do respect that he doesn’t present himself as a spiritual guide and with no displays of piety signalling. I also admire that he doesn’t let the “how very Christian of you” signallers set the frame of the conversation

A fellow Orthodox friend alerted me to a Jay Dyer Easter Egg (Pascha Egg??) in Johnson City, TN. I confirmed it via Google Street View. Neat.

Is this the secret Jay Dyer origin story?

Scene opens, a couple is driving frantically to the hospital.
Jay's Mom: What should we name him?
Jay's Dad: Well we're at the intersection of Jay Street and Dyer Street, how about Jay Dyer?
Jay's Mom: Good enough.

Jay Dyer was on the Eddie Bravo podcast.

But Eddie Bravo is in uncomfortably close contact with Joe Rogan and Sam Tripoli.
Joe is intimately tied up with the Fertitta Mafia family (UFC, Golden Nugget, Landry's, Houston Rockets, etc) and just the other day Sam Triploi was gushing on about how "high energy" the Fertittas are despite them being crooks aka the type Jay Dyer would expose yet he's hanging with Bravo?
At Sam Tripoli's Swarm Tank Show someone went on stage and talked about the Fertitta/Maceo Mafia connections and Sam/Eddie looked very nervous about the infodump. This event was before Sam's fanboying over the Fertittas so he knows damn well what those mobsters are up to.
Im saying people like Dyer need to be careful who they associate with because they're one degree away from being connected to unsavory folks and ruining their credibility. I hear people say Jay needs to get on Joe Rogan but that whole premise puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Eddie Bravo is big into a lot of New Agey stuff. In the one introduction of one of his BJJ instructional books instead of talking about BJJ he went on and on about The Secret and his encounters with random homeless hippies and whatever. Not sure what him and Dyer would have in common. He's also Joe Rogan best friend - he was the guy that turned Rogan onto weed and DMT

What? Jay was there to talk about his Hollywood books, that's all. I'll be honest with you, your whole rant about the Fertitta brothers seems like a pretty lame excuse to pick on Jay Dyer.

Well, that was his first and only post on this board so how authoritative could it be? It seemed pretty convoluted.

This debate was originally supposed to happen quite a while back, was called off twice I believe, but it finally happened. Big thanks to Andrew, everyone at The Crucible, Jay and Ryan.

True, but I think Eddie is slowly turning towards Christianity. I've heard him make comments here and there about how the Bible is the origin of it all and even mentioned that the Big Bang was original theorized by a priest. I think he will come around.

Edit: I just googled him and it seems he married a porn star, so I'm way off :squintlol:
