The Justice Department team that is leading the prosecution of alleged child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein includes the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey.

Geoffrey Berman, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said at a press conference Monday that Maurene Comey is part of the public corruption unit handling the case against the well-connected and wealthy businessman.

Maurene Comey, an assistant U.S. attorney, was named alongside Alex Rossmiller and Alison Moe as the prosecutors assisting Berman with the case. James Comey, who was fired as FBI director in 2017 by President Trump, had been a U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York before he became deputy attorney general under President George W. Bush.

Last year, James Comey said his wife Patrice “very much wanted Hillary Clinton to be the first woman president” and that he was pretty sure that his four daughters, if not all five of his children, had also wanted Clinton to defeat Trump in 2016.

“There was a lot of passion in this house for Hillary Clinton,” Comey said.

Comey also said his wife and daughters participated in the Women’s March the day after Trump’s inauguration.

Epstein was charged by prosecutors with conspiracy and with sex trafficking of underage girls, and faces up to 45 years behind bars. Prosecutors consider him a flight risk and have asked a judge to keep Epstein behind bars pending his trial.

During the raid on Epstein’s Manhattan mansion, investigators say they seized an “extraordinary volume” of photographs of apparently underage girls.

A casino doesn't want to lose its gaming license, so would cut itself out of the equation, but what about their employees. The ones who go after these high rollers from all over the world? Their livelihood depends on landing these whales and will do anything to get them. One of the biggest requests from high rollers is they want someone underage. The higher ups at the casinos know. They must know. There are cameras everywhere and when you have the same three or four men going through these casinos to the villas and suites of high rollers with underage boys and girls, they know. When those same men emerge many hours later with the boys and girls also in tow, they know. When they arrange for these men to have special passes so they have no issues moving from the car drop off point to the high roller, they know. They have deniability though and will let their employee take the fall. The thing is though, the feds aren't going to raid these places. Every single politician in the city, county and state is dependent on the casinos to get them elected. Whether they are a friend of the worker or the executive, they need them. Plus, they are the largest employers an source of tax revenue. So, everyone turns a blind eye. Want proof? This foreign born A- list actor handed up videotaped proof to law enforcement including NAMES but local, state and federal law enforcement were told to stand down. Apparently it must be worth sacrificing some children to keep the money flow going and those in power to stay in power.

Given the social circles and political mingling that always goes on at those levels, it's difficult to imagine there was not a significant number of people in the Hollywood elite who knew exactly what Jeffrey Epstein was all about. Bill Clinton made it an early habit of his first term to rub elbows with them as much as possible.

If there is Israeli money tied to Epstein in some kind of blackmail scheme, that needs to be aired out very publicly. If so, it certainly would explain the extra panic at Trump getting elected - he obviously wasn't compromised.

Many times the guy has been compared to Gatsby, and there is speculation he cooperated with the government during the financial crisis so that they could go after Bear Stearns.

How did he get his billions, I have no clue.

That is actually Les Wexner. He is the richest man in Ohio. He founded Victoria's Secret and the Limited. He lives in an affluent suburb just outside of Columbus. Wexner also spun off other brands like Abercrombie and Fitch, Lane Bryant, and Bath and Body Works.

The only "billionaire" I can name off my head that didn't have kids was Paul Allen. And people were like with Allen, "he had trouble finding a long term girlfriend." Despite dating lots of models. I don't think what Epstein did was OK, but I take issue with charges being filed after a plea deal and completion of the sentence. The US has a problem with this- offering "first offender" and "sealed sentences " getting people to agree to terms then subsequently reopening cases or changing terms after the fact. People agree to First offender or plea deal terms , then a decade later are charged with related crimes in another district- bad precedent to set. Again I do not agree with Epstein's behavior, but prosecutors should 6have two bites at the apple, especially after a plea deal was reached and completed- even if it was a slap on the wrist. I believe there was also some kind of financial settlement with the victims . They did this to Bill Cosby too, had him do a deposition in a civil case with a promise of no criminal charges, he paid a settlement - then they subsequently used the deposition in a criminal prosecution and the woman who recieved the settlement testified against him despite the settlement terms stating she would not. Bad precedent- not the legal system I would like to under as a US citizen. This will be interesting to watch play out, get your popcorn.....

Something to do with the plea deal being done in Ohio. Since Epstein is in Manhattan they are not part of the plea. I guess he was meant to never leave Ohio or move overseas?
