I think intellectualism and worship of human rationality has been pushed so hard because it turns people off anything spiritual. This leaves a huge side of what it means to be a human being wide open for someone else to tap into without us knowing.
Of course they would do this, while they go into forests and perform the most religious rituals you could imagine. That is the hidden knowledge that they buried under Richard Dawkins, Bill Nye, Degrasse Tyson etc. Of course they push God out of schools.
