lol my parents MADE me get married at 18. I don't understand not being able to find a spouse. I think it really does come down to compromise and deciding to work with your spouse!
This is a legit concern for my husband and I and many of our fellow homeschool families---finding good spouses for our kids. From families that aren't complete train wrecks. We are basically thinking we are going to pair our kids off with each other. Can't we bring arranged marriages back? PLEASE

No. We can't control God's plans. <3 But we can guard our hearts and be saved by Hope! Choose Joy!

Hello! I'm new(ish) here. I can't remember how I first stumbled upon Roosh---some trad circle I follow online. Anyway, that was several years ago. I've visited the forum on and off again through the years but decided it would beneficial to finally become a member here. So hello gals! I'm a homeschooling mom to 6. Married to my hubs for 16 years. In my mid 30s. We homestead. I have a devotion to classical music particularly the Baroque period. I am a devoted reader. Both play and teach piano. Was a former competitive distance runner back in the day during which I ran at college level and qualified for Boston my debut marathon. The conception of baby 3 sidelined me from fulfilling my qualification. Most importantly, I am a trad Cath. PAX!

Hello all! New member here.
I'm still learning more about the Faith and I've been a Christian for 2 years now. Born and raised protestant-ish but growing up we were not a godly family at all. There is a lot of trauma in my family but it's amazing how much the Lord has loved us and now me and my family are doing well and worship God together.
I am currently looking to join an apostolic Church, and would love to join an orthodox Church because my theological views align more with the church however, since I live in a place with virtually no orthodox Churches I have been considering Catholicism. I don't completely agree with certain doctrines, Papal infallibility being the chief one, but other than that I find it to be a requirement so I can finally receive the most Holy Eucharist. My soul aches for communion and tradition.
Any thoughts on this are welcome!

Welcome to the forum. When you say "virtually no Orthodox churches", are there in fact any, even if distant? If so, it could be worth making contact, even if their services are not in a language you understand, as the priest might be able to help you with recommendations. Don't settle for second-best if you are unconvinced about such a central doctrine!

Meanwhile you could always change your "label" here to "Orthodox enquirer": you never know - it might make a difference to the responses you receive. And ask questions in the "Orthodox Noob" thread.

Yes there is an oriental orthodox Church in a language I don't understand! I'll try to contact them :)
thank you for your suggestions!

Be careful. Oriental Orthodox are not in communion with the canonical Orthodox church. They may not acknowledge it but there are significant doctrinal differences, as well as cultural ones, that could lead you as much astray as Catholicism might.

I didn't know that! Ah I guess I'll have to research into things.

Hello, I'm a new member and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a traditional Lutheran (with great respect for Orthodoxy), wife and SAHM, and beginner homesteader. I find myself feeling a bit lonely as I don't know any ladies (aside from two of my sisters) who hold quite the same religious/political views as me. I know many Christian women but it seems like we don't share the same level of zeal. I'm happy to now be a part of this community.

Welcome DeDe! I remember feeling exactly like you 5/6 ish years ago. We had our first born in our parish school and I literally had NOTHING in common with the other moms there. They were extremely worldly, obviously had no qualms with ignoring portions of church teaching that didn't suit their lifestyles (most families had only 2 kids-boy and girl. No large Catholic families to be found at this "catholic" school.) We ended up pulling our son and homeschooling 1.5 years later and it was then that I found my ppl. Many aren't Catholic, but we share nearly everything else. It has been such a blessing. May you find your ppl DeDe! And may this forum help fill the void until then. PAX!

If you're a woman, use this thread to introduce yourself.

The Ladies Forum was created for women to ask questions, seek guidance, share their faith, and experience fellowship with other Christians. All members in good standing are welcome to participate here by creating threads or replying to existing ones. Read the announcement thread for more details.

To know if a poster is a make or female, view their profile and click on the "About" tab. If nothing is listed, the user is male.

Guidance for female posters

1. We don't allow sharing of identifiable private information. This includes posting pictures of yourself or those you know. Also do not share any detail which allows someone to easily dox you.

2. We don't attack or condemn others. Unlike social networking platforms, we are courteous to each other and do not start arguments with fellow members. If a user is hostile towards you, use the report feature.

3. If you want to copy a thread topic from the men's forum, simple start a thread here with a similar title and add the word "Ladies" at the end of the title.

Guidance for male posters

1. This isn't a subforum to initiate discussions or heady debates that are targeted towards men. Use the other subforums for that.

2. Be thoughtful when posting advice or spiritual guidance. We don't want to lead women down the wrong path with advice that is confusing or not well thought out.

Enjoy!
Is there anyway to mitigate spam postings?

Women seeking secular online dating advice have many current thread options to ask their question.
Please consider not creating a new thread, but rather consider these options:

A) search and review the current thread topics on secular dating, and ask the question in a current dating thread; or
B) use the Ladies Lounge (Women Only) thread to request advice from women only

Sorry if attempting to provide useful information to others with similar circumstances (by organizing the same threads in one post) offends others.

Sometimes listening / reading others experiences can provide comfort and insight to our own tribulations and challenges. Listening, rather than talking, provides opportunities to learn / acquire wisdom.

Starlight your online presence/ interaction/ behaviour among past female accounts (and now mine) suggest you as a forgone conclusion.

Did you not boast one time on here how popular you were as an “online influencer?” Seems to be your lot you have kept are divisive individuals.

You know, I feel badly for doveofthesun96. Here you have a longtime lurker finally make a thread honestly asking for advice only to be called a “troll”, “unattractive”, and “ugly” and then finally chastised for even making her thread to begin with. Really unfortunate.

What? I am not, nor have I ever been, an “online influencer” and have never claimed to be one… lol :laughter:

I am a new convert to the Orthodox faith, and praise God, I am getting married in the church this January!

I look forward to reading posts by fellow Orthodox women, to help me grow in my faith, God Willing.

Blessings to you all!

p.s. if there is a telegram chat for the ortho ladies, please let me know!

Hi everyone. I'm an Orthodox Catechumen from South America and have been aware of this forum for some time. I grew up Protestant and discovered Orthodox Christianity during lockdowns. I don't live close to an Orthodox Church so having the online community has been a real blessing for me however it is largely male-dominated so I thought it would be nice to connect with like-minded women on here. I am single, and enjoy cooking, baking, crafting, reading, and spending time out in nature. Blessings and I look forward to getting to know you all.
