The amount of 'Refugees welcome' signs I see in people's windows and such is truly disheartening. There's a whole road in my city where it literally feels like walking through a Middle-Eastern country. Also incidentally happens to be the same area where there was a shooting, and a massive knife fight in broad daylight...
The majority of open borders types will be people entirely insulated from their effects (white collar labor, middle class and higher neighborhoods), or who profit from their existence (low skill/globalist minded businesses and government/non-profit workers/contractors).
An early red pill of mine was realizing how ignorant these supposedly diversity seeking white urban liberals were. They spend a fortune on rent to cram into the trendiest neighborhoods amongst themselves, yet rarely venture more than 5 blocks from Lululemon. I went on a date with one that confessed she had never driven west of the “dividing” street that unofficially separated the yuppies with the local blacks and Mexicans. They pat themselves on the back for being neighborly with a few local black or brown professional class residents or coworkers, and humble brag about eating at some dumpy mexican place they wouldn’t tolerate of it was run by white people.
I’m sad to say I wasted my 20s trying to run with these types and especially trying to date these women. If there is anything positive about Covid and rising crime, it’s the destruction of these overpriced, post college, Disneyland fantasies of “urban” lifestyles.
That depends on what you think the British government is, and whose interests it serves.
As a wise old bird once remarked: With friends and family, it is typically best not to assume malice where incompetence can explain the situation. With governments, it is the reverse.

Mexico is among the wealthiest countries in Latin America, and by many metrics, it’s the most developed and civilized. They don’t stay in Mexico because Mexicans think southern nations are lazy and stupid, and feel no guilt to deny them. That, and wages and social benefits are much better in Woke America. They come to America because they can reap all the benefits of white guilt, while passing through a relatively wealthy country that is probably more culturally similar to their own. Mexico should either deny these people passage or take responsibility for them.
Seriously, I try to explain this to people and they just don't get it, because grug-brain racism (as opposed to my bespoke racism, lol). Even the most extreme American could ever possibly hate Central Americans to the extent that your average Mexican does.
