One thing that always baffled me is why lesbians who say they hate men, or have never slept with men, want to act like them in bed-strapons, dildos, etc.

It's unusual because women lack game. They don't know who is supposed to make the first move, or how to do it. So they just get drunk, wake up together, and then move in the next day.
