Every year at this time the British Legatum Institute launch their Prosperity Index, where all or most countries in the world are ranked.
The ranking is based on a variety of factors including wealth, economic growth, education, health, personal well-being, and quality of life.

Denmark gets first place, followed by Norway, Switzerland and Sweden. USA is ranked number 18. In the bottom of the list we find Afghanistan, Yemen and several African countries.
